Twenty-two Christmas Questions

We found this meme at Blue's blog on Saturday and it's definitely a "mom" meme!
Mom had fun playing in between batches of cookies! Maybe you can too!

(1) What is your favorite Christmas movie?
A Christmas Story with Ralphie and Randy!(2) What is your LEAST favorite Christmas movie?
I don't really have a least favorite.
(3) What is your favorite Christmas Song?
Feliz Navidad!
(4) What Christmas song(s) drives you crazy?
Blue Christmas by Elvis!
(5) What is your favorite Christmas drink?
Eggnog!
(6) What is your favorite Christmas memory?
Sledding with dad and my brothers!
(7) What is the best toy/gift you've received on Christmas?
WoolieDales!
(8) What is the worst toy/gift you've received on Christmas?
Soap!
(9) What do you LOVE about the holidays?
The Christmas lights!
(10) What annoys you about the holidays?
Rude shoppers!
(11) Do you prefer star or angel on top of a Christmas tree? Or something else?
I don't really have a particular topper - just an ornament near the top and it changes from year to year!
Family room tree:Airedale tree in the kitchen:
(12) What is your family favorite recipe at Christmas?
Nonna's fruitcake!
(13) Are you a Grinch or a Who at Christmastime?
I'm not a Grinch. What's a Who?
(14) Christmas light displays - Love them or Hate them?
Love the lights - both white and colored but I hate the LED lights. They're too white and impersonal.
(15) Santas at the mall - Fun times or Creepy?

My daughter visited with Santa in the malls for years. I never did that as a kid!
(16) Christmas cards - do you send them, yes or no?
We do send out cards and we love receiving them! Our list got cut in half this year though.
(17) What is the best thing about Christmas, in your opinion?
Giving gifts to others and making them happy!
(18) What is the worst thing about Christmas?
Again - the rude crowds!
(19) When do you put the tree up and take it down?
I try very hard to wait until after Halloween till it goes up! LOL shhhhhhhhhh
The family room tree comes down usually the second week in January and the Airedale tree sometimes makes it until the end of January!

(20) Out of the 12 days of Christmas, which day and item would you want your truelove to give to you?
Five golden rings sounds very nice!
(21) What is your favorite smell at Christmastime?
The balsam greens!
(22) What would make you happy at Christmas this year?
Being with my husband and my sweet furbutts and my daughter and her hubby! It sounds wonderful to me!

That was fun! If anyone else has time in between cookie recipes, you might want to give it a whirl!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Very good friends of ours gave this pewter piece to dad a couple of years ago.

Wheelie Wednesday - The 2010 Airedale Quilt

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
I've missed you all! It's been 2 whole weeks since I've blogged!

Mom is hard at work on the next Airedale quilt with her quilting bee! It's a top secret project and I promised that my lips will be sealed but I can give you a tiny peak, right?

These are tiny pieces that mom is working with this year!
I can tell you that this is going to be the absolute cutest quilt that the bee has ever done and they're all so excited about getting started! Mom got the pattern in the mail when she got home from Florida and couldn't wait to begin! She got a packet along with her pattern that shows the colors that they have to match with so everyone is on the same page!
Uh oh! I'm getting the evil eye from mom that I'm getting close to saying too much! Sorry, mom!

Okay then! I can show you the pretty poinsettia that dad gave mom!
We're a perfect match!

See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

Christmas Ornies from Putter

Our goodest and bestest friend, Putter, sent us a Christmas package and told us that we had to open it at once!
Okay - who would want to argue with that, right?!

She gave me a dog dish Christmas tree ornament with a dangling bone and it says, "Maggie, the best Airegirl"!
OMG, thank you so very much, Putter! I absolutely love my Christmas ornie!
Mitch got one too and his says, "Mitch, the best Aireboy" hummmmmmm
Putter even sent ornies to mom and dad! Awwwwwwwwww, you are so thoughtful and much too generous, Putter!
Mom and dad are elves!
You have an "in" with Santa now, right?!
They look just beautiful on our tree! Thank you so very much, Putter! You are so sweet!
Last night mom and dad went to a neighborhood pawty and guess who wasn't invited? Where's the Christmas spirit when it comes to us doggies?

Mom made her famous stuffed celery to take.
The recipe is 8 ounces of cream cheese (softened to room temp), approx 1/2 cup of crumbled blue cheese and 1 small can of small shrimp ( same size as a small can of tuna). Cream these 3 ingredients together. Then sprinkle in a few shakes of onion powder or onion salt, a generous squeeze of lemon juice and a few shakes of Worcestershire sauce. Mix this all together until well blended and stuff the celery. Sprinkle with paprika and refrigerate. Easy peasy!

We helped out and got rewarded!

The card has a moose and a kitty on it! You all know that we constantly call Mitch a moose! Well, he is one! hehehe
Mitch just loves this card! What a perfect card, guys!
And now onto discovering what's inside the white box~

Geez, Mitch! You snagged that awesome moose! Now you want the kitty too? The kittie has a water bottle inside of her that crackles when you sink your teeth in her tummy! They also sent this very cool bone sticker!
Mitch is head over heels in love with the moose stuffie! He makes some pretty cool sounds!
No, Mitch! You can't have the kitty too! You need to learn how to share!
Remember - Santa is watching!
Thank you so very much for these awesome gifts, Ginger, Toby and Jeter! You guys are so sweet and very generous! We love our new stuffies!

And guess what else? Our very new kitty friends Maggie and Zoey at Zoolatry sent us this most awesome Christmas picture! The girlz were inspired by a photo of us in the workshop with dad! Mom's Home

Our mom flew into Hartford yesterday afternoon and Mitch and I got to go with dad to pick her up! Mom was thrilled to see us but we were being little devils and the both of us looked at her like she was a stranger! Do you guys ever do this to your moms when they come home from a trip - kinda give them the cold shoulder?
We sorta continued to hold her off even though she was being so sweet to both of us!

We were expecting something special and yummy from Florida but guess what she brought home with her? What the heck is this, mom?
A pie server?
Don't they have dog treats in Florida?!
While mom was gone we got mail! Christmas cards!
We're not even in the DWB Christmas card exchange this year! Thank you so much Baby Rocket Dog and Hootie and Reilly and Keeley and Teagan and to Noah and his sissies Willow, Tess and Lucy and to our dear friend Carol Usher! We love your Christmas cards! They are so special to us!
Check out the stamp that came on Carol Usher's envelope!
That's ME! Is that cool or what?!
How'd she do that?!
We also got 2 packages in the mail. One of them mom says is a Christmas pressie and NO OPENING it until Christmas!
What do you think, Mitch? Should we peek?
The other package is from Toby, Ginger and Jeter, our Poodle buddies that live in Alaska!
Our friend, Jazzi the Scottie is having a Christmas package exchange and we got Toby, Ginger and Jeter's names! They don't have our names but they are such sweeties that they wanted to send us a pressie anyway! Isn't that just too generous! Awwwwwww thanks, guys!
What do you think, Mitch?
I'm game if you are!
Mom said no not yet! You're such a pawty pooper mom but it sure is nice to have you home!
BTW, this morning we both gave mom a huge welcome home and almost pushed her over! hehehe

So until next time.................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

My Sweetest Girl

This is Maggie and Mitch's mom today. I'm missing my furkids and wondering how my sweetest girl is doing. Yes, George does write and it all sounds great but it's not the same as being there. Mitch is daddy's boy and he's a happy boy who idolizes his dad so I don't worry much about him. I know he's having fun and doing just fine.

But I do worry about my precious girl. I didn't post about it but Maggie had to visit her vet a couple of weeks ago because she was refusing to eat and losing interest in everyday living. Tests were run and although she didn't have Lyme, she did have a tick-born disease and she is on doxy. The doxy has been wonderful for her and she's pretty much back to her normal self. I pray her dad is remembering to give her the meds she needs twice a day.

Our favorite artist, Miss Barbara, painted this for me a couple of months ago. The photo was taken around Easter of this year.
The painting is so very special to me. I just adore my Maggie girl and the older she gets, the sweeter she gets! Seniors rock!

I miss you, Maggie! I hope daddy and Mitch are watching out for you and not over-doing it. I can't wait to come home and give you a big hug and kisses on your furry head. You first and then Mitch!

Love,
Mom
