Mackie's First Time

Guess where we went on Wednesday?
It was Mackie's very first time and he made it all the way to the top and all the way back down!
Because it's Flower Friday, we were looking for flowers along the way.   The beautiful Mountain Laurel is everywhere in full bloom and it's just beautiful!  Mom so wishes that it had a fragrance.  Imagine the perfume we could have had while hiking Sleeping Giant☺
There are hundreds of them everywhere!
We did find a wild rose~
We found 2 wild roses  but not much else along our path.
We did meet lots of dogs and many of them were puppies but not as young as Mackie is.  Mackie is 14 weeks old today.
 Time for a water break~
We're heading to the top of the castle☺

We can see for MILES up here!
It's more impressive when you see it in person.
 On our way down~
We couldn't leave without taking a picture of the castle~
These steps mean we're almost to the end of the hike.   Mackie doesn't do steps yet so he's cheating.
He looks very alert in this picture but 5 minutes later, he was out like a light.  That was a lot of walking for a little boy!
 We had a blast!
We mentioned your name many times along the way, angel Mitch.  We sure did miss you on our hike, buddy.    Mitch has been gone 2 months and we miss him LOTS!  We put a bouquet of feathers on his final resting place.
Love ya lots♥

God Bless Angel Mitch...I know he heard you all mention his name.
As mom likes to remind me 'never forget those who came before you Madi. It is because of them that you are here!"

  10. That is quite a work out for a growing puppy with short legs. But the view is worth it. The feathers are wonderful.

  11. GO Mackie!! Hiking is da best! I wish I woulda gotten socialized when I was a baby puppy like you. I still don't know how to meet doggies nicely when I'm on my leash. Butt I do have friends. It's something from my checkered past as a rescue...And you have Molly to teach you the ropes, and she learned from the best!!
