This time of the year it is LOADED with apples! Overnight the wind knocks some of the apples off the tree and in the morning Mitch and I always have free snackies until our evil mom picks them up and tells us that we've had more than our share for the day! After our walkie Mitch is always the first one outside with dad so I honestly think he snags a couple more apples that mom doesn't know about!
Mom says she can always tell by his poo if he's fibbing or not! hehehehe
I happen to be more lucky than Mitch seeing as I am actually tied to the apple tree and I get all of the fresh ones that fall - the minute they fall!
But I'm not a pig like Mitch is and I won't eat 25 apples in one day - he would if he could!
I'm happy with just one!
Mitch is tied on a staircase inside the barn near where mom and dad are so he can only get so far and when he sees a couple of apples that he can't reach, he barks for help! hahaha
And if I were a nice sister, I'd roll them to him but I'm not a nice sister because then mom will yell at me for feeding Mitch too many apples!
Mitch will stand there and bark at the apples until he either gets one or until mom tosses it to the geese and ducks. They love apples too!
Can you see the apple spittle on Mitch's chin? Don't you think at this point he's had more than his share? What a piggy boy!
After we got bored of the apples, we had a friendly game of tug!
The green bone pillow now has a small sized hole in it! Once the hole grows larger, that will be the end of the pillow! Oh well! It was fun while it lasted!
So until next time..................
Love ya lots,
Maggie

that's so cool that you have your very own apple tree with apples in it. Brody loves apples. we used to have an apple tree full of apples last summer but this year mom pruned the tree so much that it didn't make any apples at all. poor us, no apples...
ReplyDeleteHi, Maggie.
ReplyDeleteWow. An apple tree! I used to love apples but no more! Maybe I had too many!!
Don't let Mitch to eat all of them! We don't want him to get sick!
Have a good night
Lorenza
Hey Piggy Mitchman!!
ReplyDeleteYou're like me. You'll eat as much as you can of anything tasty. You're a lucky boy ~ having those apply treats everyday (AND having the best big sis a boy could want).
Maggster! Do you usually win the tugging contests with Mitch. Something tells me you are a fierce competitor. But, looking at you lounging under your apple tree, you look so demure and dainty. hehehe Little would the newcomer know that you are fierce Maggie Girl of the Northford BarnRaisers!!
Goober love (& a little apple envy),
Stanley
We would happily trade you some apples today for a few grapefruit tomorrow! (actually, shortly after Thanksgiving) or oranges or tangerines or lemons. Apples don't do well here, except up north in the mini mountains, and me n Teka don't like the citrus stuff. But ohhhhh when the pecans come in! Yummy. Roughage!
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome picture of Mitchie (even with apple slobber on his chinnie chin chin).
ReplyDeleteWe have a walnut tree. Momma picks em up cuz if we eat 'em we get sick tummies.

I remember apples! Mom used to give us little pieces while she would eat one. I think they're fun to chase and play with.
ReplyDeleteWe've got green beans in the garden and Josie runs through and eats any within reach. Mom taught her where to find them and now Josie's a bean-eating machine. She leaves nothing for us... we have to get ours from a can.
Have fun!
Rudy
Woh you get free apples? I'm so jealous! Mitch sure loves apple hee hee there's still some left on his chin

your yard must be the best place for you to play. i was thinking that your mom should make an apple pie.
ReplyDeleteMmmmmmm.....those look goooood. I've never had an apple before, but generally, I like all things that can be considered food.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe that Mitch is so big! I bet he's way taller than me now! And Maggie, you're looking good yourself, as always!
Licks and wiggles,
Orion
I need one of those appleball trees in MY yard! I don't think I'd eat them...just roll them all around & bark at them.
ReplyDeleteLola
We love apple!!! Mom just sliced one and we sat patiently (sorta') while she dosed half slices to us, one by one, ever so slowly. And we had a bit of string cheese to go with it!! Yum. Almost as good as peanut butter.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of apples are on your tree, Maggie?
Jake and JH

ReplyDeleteApples! Wow--that's awesome...kinda like crunchy chipmunks, 'cept sweeter!
ReplyDeleteGuess there are worse things than being tied to an apple tree. Like a lifetime supply of hot-fudge sundaes or a long afternoon nap!
Cheers,
Seffie & Buster
Wow! That is quite a story about all the apples! Dogs are at such a disadvantage when it comes to humans. We just can't get rid of the evidence when we get into something and they know every time. It's just not fair!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are lucky to have your very own apple tree and have all the apples you want everyday forever. Apples are so good. I love 'em.
Koobuss Kisses,
Koobie

Maggie, my mom was giving me bananas yesterday, but yuck, I don't like them. I also don't like apples or veggies. Am I weird, or what??
ReplyDeleteYou two should come round and play at my house. Loads of apples everywhere (as long as nasty parents don't throw them to the sheep first) and plums! Juicy juicy plums!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, a little bit of apple juice dribble in a boy's beard looks quite smart, I think.
