We have ice ice everywhere here!
My pretty pink striped poncho was given to me by my friend, Snowball, who has passed. We will forever miss you, sweet Snowball.

The icicles are a real problem this year. Everyones gutters are full of ice and as the snow melts on the roof, the water is backing up into our houses and staining our ceilings and walls. It's not just us - it's a LOT of people that are dealing with this mess!
This is the road in front of our house. It's slick!
Yesterday mom and dad were up on our roof once again shoveling off a snowy icy mixture and still the water dripped in. This is damage that is not making our mom happy at all.
Remember less than 2 months ago mom repainted the bathroom and put Airedale stencils on the wall? Water found it's way inside the wall and "wrinkled" the paint. Mom hauled off the wrinkles only to be left with this~
She'll repair it when winter is over and it won't happen again. UGH!
We love the snow but we do have to say that at this point - we have had enough for the season.
We do not like ice. Yes, it's beautiful but it's very destructive and dangerous!
Stay safe and warm everybody!
Love ya lots,
Maggie
Is that a pink poncho Maggie is wearing - it looks so cute!!! That ice does not look like fun at all and I hope you are both really careful when you go out.
ReplyDeleteDo be careful with the roof shoveling. Ice is just the worst and more on the way Saturday. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
Mango
That is just devastating... and you did ALL THAT WORK!!! This winter is off the hook for you Easterners. So sorry, what a hassle!
ReplyDeleteI too love Maggie's poncho, ADORABLE!!!
Stay warm (and upright...) xoxo
That looks very similar to our area! I agree, I like the snow (not so much the ice) but I'm ready for spring!! Stay warm :)
ReplyDeleteWoof! Woof! YES ... Spring Weather!!! Be safe n stay warm. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteMy mum has read me about the snow storm and it sounds so scary, I hope all of you are safe and sound and warm too!
ReplyDeleteWe're with you. Today it's 0 degrees and the snow hurts our feet. Some of us don't want to go out and some run out, then can't walk back. Mom has to go rescue us. This isn't fun anymore.
ReplyDeleteMorgan, Tsar and the Porties
We hate leakies - our Mom collects buckets and we usually have then strewn all over our inside porch this time of year catching all of the leaky water.
ReplyDeleteXOXO

Hi Maggie and Mitch, yikes that's not good at all. Please tell your hoomans to be careful. You guys need to be careful too. Nobody gets hurt and we'll get through this winter just fine.
ReplyDeleteMaggie, You look cute in the poncho. Snowball had one too but the weather was never suitable for her to wear. It is only recently that our weather isn't as hot as before. Snowball would love the weather now if she is still around.
ReplyDeleteThank you for remembering her. I miss her lots too.
Happy Lunar New Year!
Cheers
Anne
Boy, do those icicles look deadly! Tell your mom to be very safe when she's dealing with roof stuff.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, you look adorable!
How incredibly frustrating - yes... beautiful (as a child, I called "ice" days "fairyland" but it looks totally treacherous. As Mango woofed, stay safe - working on the roof in those conditions sounds pretty scary.
ReplyDeleteHugs xoxo

Oh how annoyingly! They many nice works.
ReplyDeleteWe are sorry very much.
Lots of love

ReplyDeleteMaggie looks very fashionable in her pink outfit.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to see the damage caused by the ice and snow especially after all your moms hardwork.
Please make sure your mom and dad stay safe when clearing the roof.

Oh no, what a pain. We have had the same problem with our bedroom ceiling caused by rain, rain and more rain. An Airedales life can be very trying sometimes.
ReplyDeleteKeep your chins up.
Archie, Higgins and Wilberforce
Sorry about the water damage. That's no fun! Your snow looks fun though. have a great weekend. Ros and Oscar
ReplyDeleteAlthough it's icy it sure is beautiful. Lily lives your poncho. Bet it keeps you nice and warm.
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Frozen water can be so pretty but it is not good when it finds its way in the house....sorry to hear....
ReplyDeleteMy mom is SO scared of ice. They are saying we might get some snow and ice here tomorrow. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful poncho Maggie.
Sugars,
Mack
It didn't wreck any Airedale stenclis did it? Hope that Ground hog was right and this is the end of the ice and snow.
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella
Ice is bad news! Pretty, yes. Deadly, yes.
ReplyDeleteY'all stay safe out there.
And, hey, wish Our bread machine worked. The thermostat doesn't heat up the right way.
I tried to tell Her to make bread the OLD FASHIONED way!

Great poncho, Maggie.:) We hope you all are safe and hope you get some warm weather soon.

We got the ice too.....what a drag for the humans. AND they had trouble walking me. I don't like that at all.
ReplyDeleteWe hope you can get everything straighten out soon.
We love your poncho.. Sorry about all the damage.. All Mom's hard work...
ReplyDeleteBig Sloppy Kisses
Gus, Louie and Callie
Oh, gosh, that's kinda some skeery stuff. My paws are crossed that the sun comes to visit and melts all of that away for good! Especially the ice. That sounds like the skeeriest part of all.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourselves, my dear furends! And stay warm!
Wiggles & Wags,
Mayzie
Winter can be beautiful but can be so destructive to homes..one of my dads grew up in an old heritage home and had the same problem with leaks from snow and ice on the roof and gutters. Those were the days~! PS tks for the birthday greetings!
ReplyDeleteSkhary and messy -
ReplyDeleteThe ice has helped maintain my snow - that was one of its only benefits -
Please stay safe!
Hugz&Khysses,
Khyra
PeeEssWoo: What a beaWOOtiful gift from Snowball!
Oh dear, that is just terrible - after all that hard work from Mom. The ice on trees is always so beautiful, but it can wreak havoc with power lines and houses. We keep hearing about all the roof collapses. Stay safe - no fun clearing snow off the roof. We hope you get a break soon.
ReplyDeleteWoos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
Maggie!
ReplyDeleteYour poncho is pawesome. Sure it is a beautiful present from dear Snowball.
You are so right. The ice there looks pawesome but it is dangerous at the same time!
Now... go back inside to stay warm and comfy!
Take care
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Oh dear, that's too much of a good thing. i'm hoping that Mr. Sun works harder there and snow is restraining itself. Your family stays safe and warm too.
ReplyDeleteTake care there. Hugs.
Gee M & M....
ReplyDeleteThis has been one humdinger of a winter fer sure....Grandma Judy said the ice was causin' problems at her house too....We sure hope that silly groundhog knows his stuff and that Spring is really right around the corner....
Stay warm and dry...
Dewey Dewster here....
That ice is bad stuff. We hope you stay safe and warm. Mom knows how awful it is when water gets into ceilings and walls 'cause it happened here once.
ReplyDeleteAlanis & Miro
It looks very pretty though....sorry it is causing so many problems! Love the pink poncho!
ReplyDeleteKeep safe and stay warm!

Wowowow! Your ice puts ours to shame!
ReplyDeleteGreat poncho, Maggie.
ReplyDeleteWe have already spring.
Nice woooh
Sally
Oh, wow. That's a lot of ice! Snow is fun (for a while, says mom...) but ice is the WORST! Stay safe, you guys!
ReplyDeleteLuv,
Dave
PS: You look very pretty in your pink ponch.
Our human likes to slip on the ice!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was the fun part...so take care over there.
Maggie we love your pink Poncho and how lovely that it reminds you of your friend.
love
Martha and Bailey xxx
Oh dear, hate to hear about the water leaking into the house!! I know my mom is really wanting spring to arrive, it's been a hard winter on so many.
ReplyDeleteMaggie~~ I love your poncho! Looks very stunning on you ;)
Stay safe!
Love,
Rudy
OMD...did you guys ever get the ice...yeseesesch...
ReplyDeleteWe had our hoooge storm last February...had water on the closet floors...soaked the carpet too...it was coming in from the roof peaks...same thing...ice stuck all in the gutters...
Please please tell your Peeps to be careful on that roof. The guys that dug ours off used scaffolding...some of the icicles they knocked off weighed over a hundred pounds...winter is dangerous!
We know just under that snow are some crocus and some daffy dillys that are just waiting to SPRING!!
Kisses,
Scruffy, Lacie and Stanny
I am so sorry about the damage to your wall. Ice is very dangerous. In the past, I have wrecked several times on it and always have fallen on it. Now I stay inside..it's scary. They are calling for ice here again which is what we usually get instead of snow. Please be careful and let's hope spring comes soon! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
ReplyDeleteWe got lucky & missed the ice storm, but I agree, no more winter!
ReplyDeleteNubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Oh yes, we agree that snow is much better than ice if you must choose (of course we choose sunny warm days!). There's not much to say good about ice...no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Be careful not to slip on it. We're terrified of it here, and are fortunate it doesn't come up north here too often, though we understand our southern neighbors suffer from it frequently. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteTeddy
Our mom left you a comment yesterday, but Blogger ate it!
ReplyDeletePlease be careful around the icicles! When our pawrents lived in Pawsylvania, a ginormous icicle came down and broke the windshield of their pick-up truck! And they didn't even know it until Spring! (They weren't driving it because of the light weight back end. Even steel bars in it still let it spin in the show and ice).
Stay safe and warm!
Aire-hugs,
Penny & Patches
Oh, I'm so sorry to see how the snow is spoiling your lovely paintwork!
ReplyDeleteHi Maggie and Mitch,
ReplyDeleteThanks for this very informative post! We are very upset about the leaking in your house (Parental Unit gasped when she read that and saw the pictures-she know how hard your Mom and Dad work to keep your house...well, perfect!
Please be careful on your roof!
We've had lots of ice here-more last night and lost part of our tree, but not to the extent that you've had!
P.S. We love your gorgeous Poncho from Snowball, may he/she be frolicking over the RB as we speak:-)
Bless your hearts!!! I am so sorry about all this ice and snow with more to come!!!!!!!! This has been a winter for the record books!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so ready for it to be over but then I think about some of the violent spring's we have had and then the hurricanes!!! Mother Nature is mad at us and she is the boss!!
We must make peace with her!!
xx, Bambi & Fern
wow, those icecicles are really huge. that's so terrible that the ice is melting and making water iinside your house. we're sorry that it is so destructive. we wish all of the ice would melt and go away, but that would probably make a mess too.
ReplyDeletewoofs
Hi Maggie and Mitch,
ReplyDeleteYour place also looks cold.
Stay warm and take care!
