The Sunshade Mat

We're sure you all remember seeing this box of Sunshade's fur that Miss Elaine and Sunshade hand delivered to us back in May.

The Sunshade mat was finished and it was mailed on June 28th and I didn't arrive in Canada until July 25th!  We were so worried that it had gotten lost!
But it did arrive and we are so happy about that!

This is the Sunshade candle mat~~

Yup, that's really her fur needle felted into the mat!

We were at Glenwood last Tuesday.  It's the first time that we've gone since Miss Elaine and Sunshade were with us. 

 We ate a sweet potato fry and thought of you, Sunshade!

We sure wish that you and your sweet mum could have been with us!

Today is July 28th.  It's been 1  1/2 years since our sweet Maggie went to Rainbow Bridge.  It doesn't seem possible that it's been that long.  We miss you, Maggie ♥

My New Collar

Do you notice anything different?

 It's my new tennis ball collar from Cody's Creations!
Mom says it's absolutely perfect for me because I would play ball 24/7 if somebody would play with me for that length of time!

Mitch came out to the garden to get his picture taken too.   Nice smile, Mitchy!

 I think roaching is contagious.  Mitch threw himself on the ground too!

 

We give my new collar from Cody's Creations a 10!  Mom says it's very well made and just beautiful!

Thanks Cody and thank you, mom!  I love my new collar!

National Ice Cream Day

We're celebrating National Ice Cream Day today!  That's really hard to take, right!

Nearing One Hundred Degrees

Today is one of the hottest days of the year and we're inside staying cool but mom was outside in the yard touring~

This is our vege garden.  It was looking pretty good about a week ago when dad had just tilled the soil but we've had lots of rain and the weeds are beginning to get ahead of us again so pay no attention to those nasty weeds.  

 We're almost ready to pick our first cuc!

 And the bell peppers are coming along beautifully!

 The tomatoes are still small and there is no hint of pink yet.   We think at least another couple of weeks~

 The trumpet vine is in bloom~

 The waterfowl island is deserted. It's in full sun and it's too hot to sunbathe today - even for the turtles.

  The ducks and geese are out of the water and in the shade trying to beat this heat too. 

The Mutes are in the water along the edge of the pond in the shade. 

 Hi Lucy!  Lucy eats bread right out of dad's hand and she takes it so gently.  Lucy is a sweetie!

 These pods are on our wisteria vine.  They look like beans and they're fuzzy like a peach.  In another couple of weeks they will split open and inside the pod is a seed that looks like a brown lima bean.   Does this mean that if you plant it, it will grow?  We have no idea.  Does anyone know?

 We have one beebalm flower  - just one!  LOL

 This flying beauty must be very hungry to be out on this hot sunny day in this heat!

 No thank you, mom.

Mom's Birthday Pressie

Mom got a birthday pressie in the mail from Auntie Lydia, Dave and Sophie!  Aren't Dave and Sophie  handsome pups!

 Auntie Lydia made this beautiful tote!  Mom just loves it and she especially loves the vibrant orange poppy fabric!  It's PERFECT!
Can you see my pretty hair/furband?  It's a ribbon with poppies all over it! Don't I look pretty!

 Auntie Lydia also made this gorgeous zippered fabric case.  Mom is definitely all set for the next trip that she takes! Thank you so much, Auntie Lydia!  You do fabulous work with your sewing machine and you're so very creative!

 She also sent beads and buttons for all of mom's wool candle mats that she makes ☺

 This WireFoxTerrier wool candle mat is on facebook right now.  It's a donation mat that peeps will bid on and the monies go to help Terriers in Europe that are in need.  

And Auntie Lydia made this card!  It's one of the flowers in her garden. Isn't it fabulous and it's PURPLE!
Thank you so very much, Auntie, Lydia, Dave and Sophie!  You made our mom very, very happy on her special day!

And mom wants to thank each and every one of you for all of the fabulous birthday greetings and cards and wishes.  She had a wonderful day ☺

 And we have some rather disturbing news~~
Mom has treated herself to a new flashy beast.
After all this time, she finally broke down and bought something that will point and shoot and fit in her pocket.  No more lugging around the Kodak dinosaur!
At least Molly looks happy about it!
