One of the nights that mom was in Seattle, Aunt Lydia made Orange Buttermilk Salad. Mom thought that she had died and gone to Heaven. It was absolutely delicious!
She asked Aunt Lydia for the recipe and she also asked her if we could share it with all of you and Aunt Lydia said absolutely yes ☺
In a large saucepan, bring one 8.5 ounce can of crushed pineapple to a FULL boil.
Remove from heat and stir in one large box of orange jello.
Cool to room temperature.
Stir in 2 cups of buttermilk.
Fold in one 8 ounce carton of Cool Whip, that's been thawed.
Pour into a bowl or a mold and chill overnight.
Cool Whip is good stuff!
Cool Whip is VERY good stuff! Mom says we have to share. Our heads can't possibly get any closer!
What? Do I have something on my nose?
Into the frig it goes.
We can't wait to taste it!
With all of the outdoor picnics coming up this summer, this would be the most perfect salad to share. It's quick, easy and delicious!
So until next time............
Love ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly
Sounds easy. But we don't have Cool Whip here.

We have that at our home. Some times Lee puts in mandarin oranges. Other times she uses lime jello and puts in pineapple and marshmallows. But me I love buttermilk. I get gets a sip every night before bed. People
ReplyDeletemight be surprised to learn there is no butter, per se, in buttermilk, and it is lower in fat than sweet milk. We like to use it a lot in our home.
Thanks for being a friend
