Little tiny strawberries - tons of them!
I'm a flower child!
Mom says because we're near the mucky water we always have to be watchful for snakes and snapping turtles! Dad caught this one in the larger pond but snapping turtles migrate from pond to pond and they have been known to kill ducks, geese and swans and we don't need that problem. We think of turtles as being slow because they carry their homes on their backs. Not Mr Snapper. He's fast as lightning lunging at you and he can turn on a dime. Beware! Just look at the claws on him. He needs a trip to PetSmart to have his nails trimmed!
So until next time.........
Love ya lots♥
Mitch
those are very very tiny strawberries but sometimes they taste the best. Did you get any test results back Mitch - we have been worried about you?

Hi Mitch you are so lucky to have strawberries. I always managed to snaffle Mom's when she grows them, but she hasn't put any in this year, so sad face. Mr Snapping Turtle looks mean!!! We have seen them on tv progammes and they do look like they can defend themselves, even against gators. Look where you are stepping. Woof Treacle x
ReplyDeleteMom says those tiny ones do have a big taste, she used to find them when she was a little girl....wayyyyyy long time ago. We have lots of those snappers around here, with all the lakes and river. There is even a place you can sale them to here, but we don't know what they do wif them.....they look pretty mean.

Wild strawberries are the best kind! We have too much rain and not enough sun around here, and the local strawberries aren't too good so far.
ReplyDeleteGhostwriter says a long time ago, when she was driving on the thruway, a great big snapper was crossing the road. There was no way to stop or change lanes, so she had no choice to run over it. It took out the muffler!
Furst, How are you feeling now Mitch??? BETTER and BETTER, we HOPE.
ReplyDeleteOMD REAL fresh picked Strawberries... YUMMMMMMMM
BUTT OMD OMD that SNAPPERING TURTLE SCARED the POOPS outta US... he is WORSE than UGLY... we are GLAD that he was on the OTHER side of the fence.

Oh yum....fresh strawberries. Don't like the looks of that turtle who's guarding them. You'd best leave him alone....
ReplyDeleteOh what a fun walk. Watch out for those turtles! That was a cute puppy but Mitch and Molly are cuter! It's hump day! Yea!
ReplyDeleteHave a great Thursday!
How fun to find those strawberries - we both love strawberries and blueberries. But Mom says the strawberries here aren't as good as the ones she could pick in CT and MA.
ReplyDeleteWatch out for that snapper, those claws look deadly.

Wow, dose are some crazy nails!
ReplyDeleteOh we hate the snapping turtle, they get in in our pond. Mom and Dad use them as target practice.

Those wild strawberries are so sweet, aren't they? But the snapping turtle is not. He looks very scary to me.
ReplyDeleteStrawberries!? How lucky a find is that!
ReplyDeleteThat is one BIG snapping turtle! There is one like that that lives somewhere around my dad's house, probably about the same size. It usually turns up for a day or two in the spring (this year we saw it last month) traveling through the yard. Honey usually spots it first and then goes nuts at the sliding glass door. Mom won't let us anywhere near it, so she ended up going out with a big ol' snow shovel to move it from the yard.
Lucky dog!!! Love the strawberries!!

Hi hi hi! Ojo here! Can you eat the turtles? They might taste yummy with the strawberries!! (Oh no, my person says that was very rude an inappropriate. Why??)
ReplyDeleteI had no idea snapping turtles were that dangerous!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting the three geese today. I have put them aside to mull them over - are they finished or not? And I must get my imagination in gear to come up with a story for them.

When we moved here there were wild strawberries growing in the back yard. Tsar discovered them and after eating all the berries, he dug up the plants. I guess he was looking for more. There are none left.
ReplyDeleteWe have a patch of wild strawberries in our yard too. They taste great too.
