Yoga

Ever since my sissy came for Easter and planted the yoga seed in mom's head, she has been spreading down this pretty lavender mat and putting on black yoga pants and taking up space on MY floor in front of MY bed to practice yoga exercises on YouTube
This is not mom but this is one of the exercises she performs.  It's called the downward-facing dog.   Getting those feets flat on the floor is the harder part - and one that she hasn't achieved yet.       I don't know about you but if this is a dog exercise, it isn't one that I've ever done before!
This morning was the very first time for this next one~
I wish that I could have been video-taping this one of mom.   She was falling over and rolling on the floor and laughing hysterically.      I'm not sure that's the way this exercise is performed, mom.   You need LOTS more practice!
Mom says that this might be considered the corpse pose.   This is about as good as it's going to get for me!
Yoga on, mom~~

Love ya lots♥
Molly

  1. When my Jason human still lived at home, he tried to do some yoga in the living room. We doggies (angel Joey dog and I) thought there was something seriously wrong with him and huddled around him, barking and poking him to get up off the floor! Whew! What a relief when he finally got up!

  3. Our Mom used to do yoga and she's thinking of starting it again. Dad recently took a class but he says he's not bendable enough. We like to lie on top of Mom when she spreads her mat on our the floor. She says that makes it much harder.

  4. Mom says yoga is supposed to be very good exercise, but she finds it hard to believe her old body could ever do that stuff:)

  6. We know our mom could never do either of those poses. Good luck to your mom.

  8. Do you help Molly?
I'm sure Mum couldn't do her exercising without my help....I always manage to make her laff and they say laffing is the bestest exercise right?

  9. Yup. We do Yoga here too. When Gus was still with us, Muzzer went away and did her Yoga stuff in a big room with other peoples. Gus would not let her practice because he was afraid she was going to hurt herself. We Missed out on a lot of fun. Now we practice at home, and I help Muzzer a lot. I balance nicely on her feeties and let her give me airplane rides. I sit on her hand so it doesn't slip off the mat thingy. and when she does the child pose, I put my nose right against hers until she starts chortling. I like this stuff.

Muzzer has been practicing for 46 years. I guess she needed some peace and quiet after she married my dad! I hope she gets it right someday so we can go for more walks.

  10. I've been going to yoga class for years now. It's really good for flexibility, strength, and balance. So good for your mom, congrats on starting a new healthy habit. (be careful with that plow position and shoulder stands - tell your mom to never move her neck while in those positions - and to keep practicing yoga :)

  11. Momma used to do a workout that used that down-dog stuff a lot, and she cursed a lot at it. Now she can't do it because it bothers her feetsies. She apparently has weirdly shaped ankles.

  12. Yesterday on campus in town, the rec center ran "goat yoga" which was hilarious. The students were on the grassy lawn in a small area enclosed by snow fence. About 10 baby goats wandered among them, nibbling on their hair etc. How crazy is that? Why not just do yoga??? My pups do an imitation of the downward dog almost daily! I can't do regular yoga due to my spine. That last one would cripple me. Good luck to your mom!

  14. I occasionally try yoga. I really like it even though I tend to fall over on the balancing poses. LOL

  15. When I do exercises on the floor, if Penny's around the comes and inserts herself under my torso. It's hilarious. I haven't done exercises with her in the room for years, so I'm not sure if she would still do this. Perhaps I should check.

  16. Great corpse. Domino wants to learn the Dead Dog pose and do it on command.
Have a great day and fun learning your new yoga pose!

  17. Great downward-facing dog, Molly! Maggie and I do yoga, too, but usually Maggs just wants to cuddle instead of yoga :)

  18. Yeah for your Mom and I am sure she will be doing lots more soon. My Mom does Pilates which is very similar to Yoga but no stress on the joints especially as she has a new hip now. I always help her when she is lying on the floor by coming over and checking she is okay by licking her on her nose!!!! Especially when I have had a big drink of water and my beard is very wet!!!!

I think your pose should be called RelaxaDale rather than corpse pose and it is very elegant too.
