Maggie and Mitch posted on our blog the day that the Home at Last quilt arrived.
This beautiful quilt has been stored in our closet for 99% of the time. Mom puts it on the bed for a day or two to enjoy it and smile but then it goes back into the closet for safe keeping. She feels that this is not right and that the quilt should be seen every single day - admired and enjoyed so she is donating it back to National Airedale Rescue.
It will be sold and a new owner will enjoy it for the next 100 years or so. If you have any interest in purchasing it or know someone who might, please click on the Home at Last quilt picture on our sidebar and it will take you to National Airedale Rescue for more details.
I've gotten lots of treats posing with this fabulous quilt~
Life is good~

What a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL quilt! Your mom is special to want to donate it back so it keeps making money for the rescue group.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautiful quilt! What a sweet thing your Mom is doing, so someone new can get to enjoy it too, and to support such a good cause.

That is so generous of you to give the quilt back to help raise money. It really should be in a museum where lots of people can enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! But it's very nice of your Mom to pass it on for someone else to enjoy for a while too.

ReplyDeleteMolly, that is a supery-dupery quilt indeed, and I totally get why your mum is donating it back; such beauty definitely needs to be on show. It is great to own such things, but if they linger long in the dark, their purpose is lost. I know that someone will LOVE it when they win it and you and mum have these wonderfurs pawtraits of you sitting beside it to hold the memories! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
We remember that quilt. Has it really been that long? Yes, it does deserve to be out and passing it around will bring Aire happiness to others! We know it will be treasured for many more years.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfu quilt and we just love all the Airedale pictures and you look wonderful in front of it Molly and Mitch and Maggie too. How generous of you to give it back and for them to raise more money for the Rescue Centre. You will still have these wonderful pictures of it to remember it by. Hugs, Susie & Treacle xx

What a special quilt that is. I'm sure it is hard for your mom to give it up, but it should be seen, and not stored. What a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful quilt. I would have hung it like a tapestry. So nice of your Mum to donate it.
