We read on Rosy's blog this morning that today is Teddy Bear Day! Mom has a teddy bear that she has had since her very first Christmas, which was a long time ago and almost makes him an official antique. He's a Knickerbocker teddy.
He's mohair and he used to be a darker brown and he used to growl when you turned him upside down and he had a pretty yellow bow that is long gone but he's still intact for a handsome old guy. Mom had very high value treats so I wouldn't touch him☺We are joining Rosy today for Nature Friday~~
This week, we are heading past the farm going in the opposite direction. A lot of activity happens at the farm and it's a huge property. Our mailbox is across the street from our house and it's actually on the farm's land!Mom made a veggie and sausage soup last week. The ingredients are chicken broth, diced tomatoes, sausage, red peppers, celery, zucchini, chick peas, black olives, spinach and Mrs Dash's onion, garlic and Italian herbs spices.
I got to taste the red pepper both raw and cooked. I got to taste the zucchini too. Mom wasn't sure about me eating it raw but I scored with the cooked squash.Time to play with my new Awful Mad Kitty! He was a gift from mom on International Dog Day!We are joining Rosy and Sunny this week for Nature Friday~~
Last weekend, we took a longer walk to see if we could find more pretty flowers. Not long ago, mom got me a 2Post2Pull headcollar like Ollie wears. She says that I still pull way too hard and she doesn't like that it rides so close to my eyes.
I hate head collars!!! I would much prefer to wear a harness but mom says that I pull even harder on the harness. She also doesn't like that I'm constantly sniffing the ground searching for freebee snackies. You remember that I got myself in trouble eating wild animal poo and getting very sick to the point that I stopped eating and she swore to herself that this will never happen again. On Tuesday, a new headcollar arrived from the UK. This one is called the Dogmatic. We tried it out in the backyard to make sure it fit okay.
Wednesday morning, mom was getting her oil changed in her car so we didn't get to walk until she got back. Mom says that I wasn't pulling as hard as I do on the other headcollars but this is only my first time wearing it.
I'm posing next to a beautiful butterfly bush and mom is taking in the wonderful scent and she's happy. This is what I think of my new Dogmatic headcollar! So now I have one more headcollar to add to my collection of training devices that hopefully, will make me stop pulling so hard and will make mom happier and enjoy our walk more than she does now. Here's hoping!

Mom ran out of the muffins that she likes with her morning coffee. She could have gone out or she can make homemade bread☺
English Muffin Bread
2 1/2 cups flour - divided, 1 package of yeast, 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/8 teaspoon baking soda, 1 cup warm milk, 1/4 cup warm water.
In a large mixer bowl, combine 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar, salt and soda. Add the milk and water and beat on low speed for 30 seconds, scraping the bowl occasionally. Beat on high speed for 3 minutes. Stir in the remaining flour by hand. The batter will be stiff and you make have to knead it a few times to get all of the flour. Grease and 8" x 4" pan and sprinkle it with cornmeal. Put the batter in the pan and sprinkle with cornmeal on the top. It gives the bread a crunchy taste. Cover and let rise until doubled in bulk - about 45 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees for approx 35 minutes. Remove bread from pan as soon as you take it out of the oven.
The crust spread with butter~ Yes, please!Mom has made this bread three or four times and it always comes out perfectly! We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday~~
Off we go~~Neighbor Mike planted Dahlias at his mailbox~We discovered Impatiens near this mailbox~We spotted this red berry in the lawn and mom looked it up. It's a mock strawberry!Happy Friday!Love ya lots♥
