An Update on the WaterFowl

We've had a couple of peeps ask us how Twozie is doing.  Twozie is doing great!   She is still just as friendly as ever and doesn't mind being touched but don't try to pick her up.  She doesn't like that at all and speaks her mind very loudly about it!

Yup, that's Twozie and remember the 5 ducklings that dad and mom brought home from the livestock auction so that Twozie would have playmates?  Two of them are in this picture with Twozie.
Remember that three of them had hats?   Who could have guessed that a male duckie could be a hatter too ☺   It's very hard to tell Twozie's bestest buddies from the wild mallards.  The hats give them away plus they all stick together.  Mom must have cut off duckie #5.
 We just love those hats!
These are Speckles' ducklings. They've been out of the swan pen for quite awhile now and they're doing great!

The whitish duckie is Midgie.  She's not a midget any longer. She's a good sized duck.  All of Speckles' ducklings are good sized ducks and they're all happy and healthy.

Dad finally got the swan house roofed with shingles.  Inside the fenced in area, you can see Buster and Hazel. They were getting amorous with each other and because the Black Swans are from Australia and it's spring in Australia, they could be getting ready to mate.  Hazel has the start of a very weak nest going right in front of the double doors.  They have their privacy and we're keeping an eye on the situation.

Angel and Alice, the Whooper swans are getting along just fine.  The Black swan behind them is Bella.

And here is Bella again eating one of MY apples!
Agnes is hanging out in mom's garden~
A spinach treat for one of the Grey Lag geese~
Penny and Margaret, the Mutes were trying to take an afternoon siesta.  FatAss and Twozie had other ideas for them!

This is right outside our back door.  The Morning Glories that took forever to get going are finally blooming away.  So far, we haven't had any frost to kill the vine!
So until next time.............

Beautiful Beauty Berries

Our beauty berry bush is in bloom and our mom can't get enough of the gorgeous purple berries! She is in love with the color of those berries!
She got to wondering if they would dry nicely or if after time, they'd shrivel up and have to be thrown away so we're conducting an experiment to see what happens to the berries when you pick them and bring them inside the house.    Mom is also curious to see if they have a scent as they dry.  They have a very subtle scent now. We think they should smell like grape but mom says that's not the case.
We'll let you know as time goes on.

Mom finished another wool candle mat~~
We're preparing for the colder temps ☺

So until next time...........

Autumn Fabric from Miss Susie and Treacle

We were the lucky winners in Miss Susie and Treacle's fabric drawing a couple of weeks ago.  Miss Susie is a quilter and Treacle is her adorable AireGirl~
The envelope arrived in the mail all the way from the UK today and we knew that something good was in there!
Miss Susie sent 4 different autumn fabrics and our mom has already put her thinking cap on and is wondering how best to use the beautiful material.
Wait - and that's not all~
Miss Susie sent mom the cutest pin cushion that she made!    It's a pin cushion, mom - not a hat!
 What is this we see?
These cookie bones are called Bonios and we have been hearing about them for YEARS and now we finally get to see them and taste them!  OMD, Treacle -  you are the BESTEST!
We have to apologize for the blurry photo.  It's about 10 minutes before our dinner time and mom was thinking that maybe it wasn't a great idea to eat these cookie bones before our dindin.
Don't be ridiculous, mom - it's a wonderful idea and we snatched them before she could change her mind!
Thank you so very much, Miss Susie and Treacle!    Your package was so much fun and our mom is going to have a blast planning a new project with her new beautiful autumn fabric ☺    Autumn is our favorite season of the year!
We'll report back when mom has finished with her fun project so you can see what she decides to  make with it~~

So until next time............

National Taco Day

We are celebrating National Taco Day today and honoring sweet angel Jazzi.

Jazzi and Maggie and Mitch shared a love of  M and M's  I'm handing the purse over to you, Molly.   Carry it and think of Jazzi.  It was a gift from her to me and Maggie and we will treasure it forever ♥
We have decided that this year, we will have ice cream tacos sprinkled with M and M's!
We know that we pups can't have real M and M's so mom thought and thought and found these colored Milk Bones and hacked off the round ends and voila - M and M's.  We sliced up a loggie-type Zuke's too.
These are our ice cream bandanas - another gift from our sweet and very generous angel Jazzi.
Do you seen the taco centerpiece on our table?  That was a gift from angel Jazzi too!
Now to enjoy the tacos!
I decided who the heck needs dishes and I thought mom was going to have a cow!    Yes, mom. I'll eat off the table and not on the floor.
r

Today is the only day of the year that we're allowed to have tacos. Thank you, angel Jazzi.  We will remember you forever on this day.

We wouldn't have missed this day for the world!  We love you and miss you ♥

Worrisome Wednesday

Can you tell by the look on my face that I'm scared of that stoopid pumpkin flag that's flapping in the breezes behind me?
Please can we please go inside, mom - and QUICKLY!
Happy October, everybody!
