I'm Legal

I got my driver's license in the mail yesterday!
We blurred out my address and phone number for security reasons.
I not only got a wallet-sized license for my AirePurse but I got smaller tags too.  I have an ID tag on my collar as well as my harness so I'm doubly protected.  We can never be too safe, right!
Hurry up, mom.  It's time to hit the stores and I'm driving!

This Trumpet Vine is just loaded with blossoms~
 Russian Sage~
We think the fading Hydrangea with so many different color shades is just beautiful~
It's 7am and the farm stand is not open for business yet~
At 10am, they will have all kinds of fresh grown veges for sale!
Mrs Call duck's babies are enjoying their swim in a plastic tub~

Mackie Was Here

Mom groomed Mackie yesterday so he was here for a few hours.

The way it works is when mom is finished grooming, we both get treats!  That's fair, right?
Mom is looking at this picture and telling me that it won't be long before it's my turn.
That means that a bath will be happening soon for me.  Uh oh!

Spoil Your Dog Day

I have my very own room and all of the toys and treats and collars that I need.   I have mom all to myself so I never have to share.
What else could I possibly need or want?
 Who thinks that I'm spoiled?!

 We found cute Toadflax~
We found a small happy Sunflower!
Landlord Bob got a delivery last Sunday evening.   It's a 1925 Model T Roadster Pickup.   This is not his but it looks just like this one.    Who wants to go for a ride with me?
It's electric start and we don't have to crank it to get it started☺
Happy Friday!

August Pressies

Mom decided that I needed a new collar for August - something with hot looking colors like our weather has been lately.
My collar is handmade by a lady named Jean Turner. Mom bid on my collar from seller Jean on ebay and won it for just over a dollar plus the shipping.   How lucky are we!   I love the  rowdy colors in my new collar and so does mom.
 And that's not all.
She wanted to get me another Dog Tag Art identification tag.  She loves the ones with my photo on them.  Yup, that's me in my back yard having a great time on my lunge line☺
On the front of the tag is my photo and on the back is my name and phone numbers - both home and cell - not that I ever plan on getting lost but you can never be too careful.
I love my new August gifts, mom!  Thank you!

More than a month ago, mom noticed a small white duck hanging out in our pachysandra and it didn't take her long to figure out that she was sitting on a nest.   She was a great mother - only leaving for a short time to eat and take a swim.  She was of Landlord Bob's ducks and we think she may have been a Call duck.  This isn't her but this is what she looked like and we have no idea who the dad is.
You don't know how many times mom told herself to snap a photo of her for Nature Friday.  It never happened.
One morning as we headed out for our walk, we noticed that she was missing and hoped that when we returned, she would be back and sitting on her nest.    Unfortunately, she wasn't and mom knew that she had most probably lost her life protecting her nest.
We didn't want to invite unwanted predators in our yard by leaving the eggs unattended so mom wrote to Mackie's dad and asked him what she should do.       He told her to box the eggs up and he would stop by and collect them and incubate them in his high tech incubator.   His incubator is temperature and humidity controlled and it even rolls the eggs just like a mother duck does.   All Mackie's dad has to do is to add water.   He also has a light that candles the eggs to see if they are fertile or not.    Mom gave him twelve eggs and he told us that ten of them were fertile.
He can actually see blood vessels as the light shines through the egg shell.
He also said that the eggs would hatch in a week to ten days.
This is the first baby that has hatched.
What a cutie!
These are the eight duckies that made it and are thriving~
Thank you so much, Mackie's dad for saving Mama Call ducks babies.

Nature Friday

We are joining Arty this week for Nature Friday~

The horrible temps and humidity are gone!  YAY!
Mr Mike's Marigolds are looking so vibrant and pretty~
We found a Milkweed in bloom a couple of weeks ago~
And yesterday, we discovered the huge pod!
Love the soft purple flowers of the Crown Vetch~
 We found purple Loosestrife~
Mom was cutting the grass and discovered this plant on the side of the shed.  We have no idea what it is.   If you bigify the picture, the flower looks like a lady screaming her head off☺  Mom thought she had it with Pogonia but our lady flower has wild fuzzy hair and the Pogonia lady is more conservative.
Happy Friday and Happy August, everybuddy!
