Last Monday, our dad and Uncle Dana headed to New Hampshire to climb Mount Washington! This was dad's third time climbing this mountain!
That's Uncle Dana in shorts! Dad told us that the highs that day were 28 degrees and wind chills at the top of the mountain were in the teens! That smile on Uncle Dana's face must be frozen on!
Dad told us that it was VERY foggy - so foggy that it was eerie and you couldn't see too far in front of you!
He also said that they hiked in snow!
And he also said that it hailed for 2 hours while they hiked and it was hurting the top of his head and Uncle Dana's head because it was coming down so hard!
Dad doesn't look to be in too much pain. Look at that smile he's sporting! His face must be frozen too! hehehe
Guess what we were doing while dad and Uncle Dana were hiking and freezing their hineys off?
Eating pineapple and mango topped with a wee bit of peach sherbet out of mom's fancy champagne goblets!
Which adventure would you choose?
So until next time................
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
We've been freezing in the mornings, rugged up like inuits and our LOW temperatures have been between 28 to 32! (Luckily the days are in the 60s.) Are you sure it's summer there?
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Kendra & Bella
Twenty-eight degree? LAST Monday? Wow! We would KILL for that! Yesterday, it was 95 degrees, here, with a heat index of 105. We've had ENOUGH and it isn't really even summer yet!
ReplyDeleteYou dad and Uncle Dana look like they were having a good time despite the cold. We think we would have to choose the adventure of eating sherbet from the champagne glasses!
Aire-hugs,
Penny & Patches
It looks like everyone had fun.
ReplyDeleteXOXO
Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Ruairi
Congratulations to your Dad and Uncle for such a brave adventure!
ReplyDeleteI am loving your bandanas! You both always look so good :)
Love, Bella.
That is really something to climb Mt. Washington! Your Uncle must be made of wool to survive with his short pants on.
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
Mango
At first we were disappointed that you didn't go on that adventure with your dad but then we saw what you got to smack on and figured that climbing mountains is overrated. Congrats to your dad and uncle for toughing it out in bad conditions.
ReplyDeleteYour friends,
Niamh & Ambrose
We'd rather be doing what you guys were doing rather than what your dad was doing....yum pineapple and mango, peach and sherbet!!!
ReplyDeleteBig Big congrats to your dad for making it up Mt Washington. What an achievement!!!
Noah Willow Tess Lucy
Looks like an adventure! The climbing- not the sherbet! Though the sherbet sounds wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was young I'd have chosen the mountain. Now... the mango!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your dad and uncle for their successful climb, but I would have chosen the sherbet adventure. Freezing my hiney off does not sound fun at all.
ReplyDeleteWoofs and Licks,
Maggie Mae
well, I'd take the sherbert, but Teka would prefer the walkies please.
ReplyDeletegussie
I choose to be hiking with your dad and tasting snow rain instead of staying cozy and eating...mango.
ReplyDeleteI'm a brave boy!
Cheers!
yummm...yeah we'd be at home eating the fruit and relaxing. Climbing Mt. Washington seems like a lot of work. I mean if they need to make a sticker for a CAR that makes it to the summit it MUST be hard!
ReplyDeletep.s. If riley passes the "object" mom and dad will be volunteering for the mt. washington race this weekend!
We would be at home sipping Champagne out of the Champagne crystalware with Mom for sure!!
ReplyDeletexoxo
I think we would have to be with you eating the nummies. We did enought freezing our heinies off during the 2009 ice storm.
ReplyDeleteWags and Licks,
Mollie Jo & Bobo
Even though we're tough terriers, we'd take the sherbert!!!
ReplyDeleteBut we do admire your dad and uncle!
Wirey love,
Jake and Just Harry
Give me mango and pineapple and peach sherbet anytime. Glad your Dad had a good time, but we'll take gentle walks in 70 degree temps.
ReplyDeleteFinni says he'd have gone with your Daddy - he loves it cold because he's got so much furs! - but I would have stayed at home with your Mummy eating nice things out of posh glasses! I like your new scarves!

If that was Scotland I'd believe it but New Hampshire ? That's definitely the place for htose born with thick woolly coats.
ReplyDeleteWhat an adventure! Congratulations to your dad and uncle for climbing that mountain in the snow and cold! I would say I would have done that when I was young but now I would rather be eating the sherbert! You both look very happy with it! Lots of love, Debbie and Holly
ReplyDeleteWe were jumping up and down with excitment here today reading your post - brought back lots of wonderful memories of our trip to Mount Washington last July!
ReplyDeleteWe cheated though and got the train up to the top! Murray loved looking at all your Dad's photos today - visiting Mount Washington was one of the highlights of our holiday in New Hampshire last summer.
take care
Clive and the NSLM
oh my gosh m & m!
ReplyDeletethat is some incredible weather for mounteering!
i think we would pick your activity instead. :)
looks like dad and uncle dana could have made snowcones out of the hail and a bit of syrup.
heee!

Oh, I'm definitely with you guys 0 if you have to deal with frozen stuff, 'tis much better to eat it than have to walk in it! I know all too much about being cold and wet thanks to our Earlventure. There was LOTS of snow in the Rockies, so I totally understand what your dad was hiking in!
ReplyDeleteSnorts-
Brutus the Frenchie
well there is no contest there, I would be right there with you where it is warm and dry for sure!
ReplyDeleteWell done to the humans, what a strange breed they are for sure.
ReplyDeleteAlways conquering something - we too would have opted to stay with you two!
love and kisses
Martha and Bailey xxx
For me -- food would win out over climbing a mountain any day!
ReplyDeleteI think we'd have to choose the mountain climbing! The weather sounds GREAT up there!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Ammy
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove, Putter ...
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove, Putter ...
Ohh! I don't envy all that cold, don't know how they kept from freezing. My guess was that you guys were somewhere eating ice cream... :} Also love the M &M guys.
ReplyDeleteNice climb! A tough mountain! Dad's had a few Mt. Washington summits as well...grew up on the East Coast :)
ReplyDeleteLove the treats you all had as well. Yummies!!!
Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,
Sierra Rose
Wow, we'd be wanting to do both!
ReplyDeleteMom drove up Mt Washington back in the late 80's - her Alfa enjoyed the trip up and bakhk down -
Part of the way down, Mom's SO/Traveling partner diskhovered why they said to pull ovFUR from time to time to khool the brakes - after of khourse they ignored the 'suggestions'

Hee hee, has your dad seen your blog post yet? He might think you are "spoiled". Anyway, you two had the right idea. I bet you felt more rested and relaxed than your dad did ;)
ReplyDeleteBoth adventures are pawesome in their own way!
ReplyDeleteKisses and hugs
Lorenza
Ha! You two are so funny! Me, I'd choose to hang out with you guys and eat cool fruity stuff from fancy goblets. But your Dad and Uncle look really cool-true outdoorsmen! congrats to them!
ReplyDeleteYour buddy,
Bocci
Congratulations to uncle and Paw for climbing that big hill. Are you sure Paw didn't photoshop him and uncle on those hills? BOL..
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Doesn't Mt. Washington have like the worst weather in the world?
ReplyDeleteHonestly? We'd like both adventures.
ReplyDeleteMaybe someday ...
Love
Jake and Fergi xxoo
That looks like a pawesome place to hike! Can I have a little bit of sherbet while we hike?:)
ReplyDeleteLove,
Teddy Bear
we just got our summer haircuts.. i think we would freeze up on top of mt. washington... just a bit chilly eh? your dad did look mighty happy to be there though.. a little high though.. ;O)))
ReplyDeletewe'll go with the sherbet too.

(Pinot)
We're glad your humans had a great time!!
Momo & Pinot
Woof! Woof! That's a fantastic Dad's adventure. My mom would LOVE to do that but ME ... I rather have your delish YUMMY adventure. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteWhat a great adventure for your dad! But if I hads a choice, I would likes to go for a hike for a little bit and then go back home and have some sherbet.
ReplyDeleteLooks like everybuddy had a good time doing what they luvs to do!
Wiggles & Wags,
mayzie
Wow, you have a very sporty dad and uncle!
ReplyDeleteKissis
Mischka
WoW!That seems like a very exciting hike. we would choose to go up that hill and then come back and get that yummy treat!
ReplyDeletewe like to keep our bones and eat them too!!
wags,
Bud n Gin
P.S.:what is a Jolly ball? sounds like something we might persuade mummy to buy.
I'm sure the mountain climb was fun, but I'd pick the sherbet!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, hiking or sherbert? Let's see, hard decision, I would like both. Yeah, that's it! I choose to go hiking, then come back and eat treats from goblets! (Sorry, it's the best my brain can do, I'm not good with difficult decisions)
ReplyDeleteHappy Tails,
William Tell
Both look frosty. We'd probably go with a lick from the goblets though...
ReplyDeleteDon't you love the weather twists at our higher elevations?
ReplyDeleteI vote for sherbet!
ReplyDeletelove
tweedles
It is amazing how brutal the weather is up there. I have not been in over a decade - and I don't miss it! :)
ReplyDeleteI think you two had the best end of the stick, champagne goblets!
ReplyDeleteyou do live the good life
See Yea George xxx
I would go for your treats instead of the mountain!
ReplyDeleteMy Jeannie said she would go for the champagne goblets....filled with some fizzy, she says she had enough of our last winter to last a lifetime, and she doesn't do mountains.
But well done your Dad though!
lotsaluv, Marv xxxxx oh and Jeannie xxxxx
sorry but I am late commenting!
That looks crazy cold there! I wouldn't do the mountain for anything! I'd rather have goodies with you guys. Hahahha!
ReplyDeleteOn the side note, I think dad is very brave and sporting. That's charm, you know.
OH WOW!! That is impressive!! Three times?? Once Mommy and daddy were trying to drive up there...they couldn't because the wind was way to strong. Mommy said she was afraid of getting out of the car cuz she didn't want to get blown away. I don't want that either..
ReplyDeleteGood job, M & M's daddy!
It seems like you guys and mom had a great time at home too!
wags,
Preston
