See that orange gazing ball. Our small red maple tree used to live there until all of the snow that we had this winter decided to break all of her branches. Mom tried to save her but she was fighting a loosing battle.
Our smaller wisteria is in bloom.
The larger one took a hit this past winter too. Two good sized branches got broken but mom says that wisteria is basically a weed and it will recover just fine and by the end of the summer, you won't even be able to tell that any branches were ever broken.
Hi Dauby!
Poor Mrs. Turtle. No privacy at all.
She's trying to lay her eggs before she heads back to the pond for a swim.
Excuse us for disturbing you, Mrs. Turtle.
These tree peony blossoms are bigger than my face. And they smell sooooooooooo pretty!
Did you miss me, Maggie? I'm back from the garden~~
See you all next week.
Friends forever,
Francesca
You are a great tour guide, Francesca! You always have such pretty flowers! Our Wisteria has taken over our back yard! It WAS taking over our deck until Mom trimmed it back a couple days ago. We like yours better because it sort of looks like a tree!

For some reason my Mom just sits here sighing and thinking how bootiful every thing in your garden is. She loves the wisteria and those peonies are just amazing. I bet Dauby is so happy winter is over and she can swim easily on the pond again.
ReplyDeleteMiss Francesca, your garden tour was lovely. We are becoming big fans of wisteria, yours is lovely.

You've the most beautiful garden, Francesca! The wisteria and peonies are really gorgeous, we don't have them here because the weather is too hot for them. How lucky you are that you can have those beautiful flowers in your garden.
ReplyDeleteI have wisteria envy at the moment. I never planted a bush when my aunt/godmother died, and purple was her favorite color... why didn't I think of wisteria before?!
ReplyDeleteFrancesca,

Ohhh! Your garden is to die for!!! Fave flowers are peonies - can't believe how beautiful yours are! Can practically smell them from here and the wisteria seem different than the ones out here - so gorgeous! Sorries that winter took away a lil tree and some branches - you had a very bad one -

You give a very delightful tour, Francesca. And you looks so pretty in your garden hat. We hope that turtle completed her mission:) Mom LOVES the peonies. With the harsh winter you had, it is amazing you don't have more damage and loss. Too bad about the maple tree.
ReplyDeleteMaggie looks very happy to see you back.

Hi Francesca, cool - thanks for the tour. I really like how you have different creatures in your yard like Mrs. Turtle. My brother startled Mr. Skunk Jr. one year - it didn't go well.....
ReplyDeleteYou dogs have been busy. Your garden is looking wonderful. That Tree Peony is really special!!

I LOVE YOUR GARDEN!! Though I'm sad how winter broke some branches of your precious. But I think they have generally put up a good fight! Thank you for sharing all the colors, they really make me happy.
ReplyDeleteDo you know that terrapins are considered auspicious animals to the orientals. And it's good luck to even catch them lay eggs, less mentioned at your own place!
Just beautiful! That wisteria is GORGEOUS!!!

Dave
Hi, Francesca -
ReplyDeleteThe wisteria and peonies are beautiful. Mama didn't know that wisteria was a weed.
