Homemade Applesauce

Our apple tree is loaded with apples this year.
We don't spray them because the waterfowl eat them so they don't look very pretty on the outside but once you peel off the skin, they're fine~

Mom is making homemade applesauce. The big pot has brown sugar and spices and a pat of butter and the little pot is just apples and water. The little pot is for us!

We snagged another picture of Kevin's raising.    It's our dad's 50th barn raising!  What an accomplishment!  Congratulations to our dad and thank you to each and every one of  our Northford Timber Framer family!

Love ya lots♥

  6. Congrats to your Dad on his 50th! That is quite an accomplishment. And that applesauce looks yummy-a congrats goes to your Mom for that, Mitch and Molly!

P.S. Parental Unit is discouraged that I refuse to eat any fruit (except blueberries that are baked into her muffins), but she's thrilled that I love veggies-even broccoli!

  10. I'm so happy that you don't spray your apples. Not only do your water fowl eat them but other animals do too, including you!!!! Mmmm, applesauce sounds divine.

Congrats to your Dad. I think he's amazing!

  11. We made applesauce last week. We don't have an apple tree, but there is one in the cemetery four blocks away and we asked the caretaker if it was sprayed and he said no and please take them they hate to clean up the mess.
    Homemade taste so much better.
    Thanks for being a friend

  15. YUM-MEE!!! :-) i am looking forward to the apples this year, I've found some great recipes. But I had high hopes for our pears this year, but the dogs and the deer got to them before we did, which is okay, at least they were enjoyed!
