Mom and dad have been hard at work in our basement. They're installing a new furnace so we currently have no heat. It's gone down to 40 degrees at night, which has been a tad bit nippy but nothing we can't handle.
This is the old furnace that's seen her better day.
We don't get to hang out in the basement. Mom says that the boogie woman lives down there and he likes to eat furryDales so we're staying safe up here!
Dad is hard at work installing the new furnace.
The water part of the installation is working and now dad is working on hooking up the oil line.
Now comes the electrical portion. Dad used to work on elevators before he retired from work so this electrical work is a no-brainer for him.
Dad painted the swing door on the front of the furnace and put in a new smart control and we have a brand new flue that hooks into the chimney. Things are looking great!
And what are we doing to keep ourselves busy upstairs?
Moose antlers, of course!
We're going to be warm and toasty this winter ☺
Love ya lots♥
Mitch and Molly

How lucky are you to have such a clever dad! Ros and Oscar x
ReplyDeleteand so much better to get it all working now rather than in the middle of winter
ReplyDeleteTop of the stairs is a great snoopervision position....but as it looks like your dad had everything under control, moose antlers sounds like a good idea.
ReplyDeleteYou WILL be nice and toasty this winter.
Oh Dawg, thank goodness your dad is so handy. We always find it very interesting when we read about your furnaces and stuffs cause we don't know anyone who has one here in Oz. We also love seeing your basements cause we don't see them either! Glad it's all fixed and you'll be nice and warm for your winter. Take care mates. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteHEY, will we trade you temperatures and a couple of squirrels for them antlers!

ReplyDeleteI hope, before you started in on your antlers, you supervised your Dad Humans are lost without us
ReplyDeleteYour dad is a jack of all trades. I hope they let y'all snuggle up in their big warm bed.
ReplyDeleteAroo to you,
Sully
YOull be toasty warm in no time!!
ReplyDeleteIt is becoming nippy here too! We are very pleased your Dad has fitted a new furnace to keep you warm and snug this winter.
ReplyDeleteMolly, Taffy, Monty and Winnie
Your dad must be clever to do all that stuff with the furnace.
ReplyDeleteIt is good to have a man around that can fix every thing!! YES!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you will not be waking up to a cold house this winter!
I love how you write your posts from your dogs' perspectives. It is such a fun way to look at the world. We recently replaced out ancient furnace. One benefit we had totally forgotten about was how much more efficient a new one is compared to the old ones. It was definitely worth the investment that we had to make.

My Alaskan Malamute puppies love chewing on natural buffalo horn, but I’ve read that buffalo horn and antler chews present a danger of tooth fracture, especially to the carnassial teeth at the back of the mouth. Are moose antlers inherently softer than, say, elk antlers, or buffalo horn, or are they all much of a muchness?
