The Hydrangea Candle Mat

Our mom LOVES hydrangeas, especially the blue ones but right now, there aren't any blue ones blooming in our garden.   They're all pinks and purples, even though mom has been fertilizing them with acid fertilizer.
 She even loves the hydrangea flowers when they get old and they turn back to a greenish. 

 
When mom as at the Durham Fair, she got pictures of more beautiful hydrangeas!
 Now we have blue!

 Mom loves her projects while she watches TV at night and this is a latest - a hydrangea wool candle mat~
So now she has blue hydrangea flowers forever ☺


So what design will you tackle next, mom?  Maybe something for the holidays?
We shall see!

    Very cool! Blue hydrangeas are my favorite, too. That was the entire bouquet at my wedding to Mr. Jason!

    Goodness, I haven't visited you guys in forever! My momma and master love their gigantic hydrangeas too and even as they fade, they are still pretty.

    Oh, and the Durham fair looks awesome, especially the giant donut part.

    Mom loves blue hydrangeas too, but we don't have any of any color. The candle mat is so nice, especially with the added touch of that lace trim. Did Mom crochet that too?

    Mum loves hydrangeas but has the same problem with the blue ones. She tried turning pink ones blue but killed them all!

    That is a most beautiful candle mat. Almost too beautiful to ever put anything on top of it. We have lots of pretty hydrangeas in our yard too and most of them turn pink or purple.
