The Ducklings Have Graduated

The ducklings are graduating from their secure enclosed dog kennel pen with the water tubs to the enclosed black swan pond with real pond water!
Dad has been carrying them back and forth from the swan house to their kennel pen and they're getting so big that not everyone is fitting into the green carry tub.  They have to be moved in two groups.
We're waiting for the second shift to arrive before we take the plunge.
 And here they come!
Who wants to be the first one into the water?  That's little Midgee in front - she's mostly yellow.   Midgee is still the smallest but she's growing!
 And off we go~~~

Speckles ducklings are having a blast dunking themselves and diving!

They've been in the water for hours and they're loving it so much that they don't want to come out!
The next morning.....................

We're exhausted!   We've been sleeping with our heads on our backs in the fenced in pond all night.  No one told us that we had to come out of the water and sleep inside the swan house (like we've been doing for awhile now).   Dad left us food and water right outside the door in plain sight!  Were we supposed to get out of the water when it got dark, eat and go to sleep inside the swan house?  Why didn't someone tell us?

I think dad is trying to lure us into rethinking things~
 We get it now!
We sure do love it in our new digs and we sure wish our mom, Speckles, was here to enjoy it with us.

So until next time.............

Love ya lots♥

  1. Sounds like they do need an adult to explain things to them!

We love their safety in numbers attitude before getting into the water.

  4. They look wonderful sailing around on the big grown up pond, and so cute that they didn't want to get out. I remember that from our summer holidays, going to the swimming pool and not wanting to get out even if you were shivering!!! Hugs to them all, love Susie & Treacle xx

  13. How fun!!! Just like the little bipeds, they become tweens and teens too fast, and before you know it, they are all grown up. Swim to your hearts' content, ducklings:)

  17. Why they know the rule of safety ~ always swim with a partner. They are so lucky that they made it into the world. Just think from a roadside nest to living on a beautiful pond, their moving on up as the song says.
    Thanks for being a friend
