He's Home

Our dad spent last week in Maine leading a barn raising for our friends, Dan and Jan.
They're making sure that everything fits together perfectly~
They actually finished all of the siding on the timber frame and had all of the Weatherwatch on the roof in preparation for the roof shingles.     The Northford TimberFramers are the bestest!
Miss Jan crocheted our dad a flag blankie!  Thank you, Miss Jan.  You did a beautiful job and it is just in time for the cooler weather!
When dad unloaded his truck, we found this in a gift bag from Miss Rebecca.  It's obviously a make-up mirror and someone forgot to glue the mirror in place.    That's okay.   It works just fine the way it is!  Thank you, Miss Rebecca!  We love it!

Mom and dad are back to work on the front of the house.   Another week and they should be all finished.  YAY!

So until next time............

Love ya lots♥

That flag is lovely. What a lot of work must have gone into it. I admire you all for your skills - barn raising, cooking, gardening, crochet, painting, and much more - your blog is a constant source of pleasure to me.

Another successful barn - we wonder if there is place inside where all the people who worked on it can leave their names - it would be cool in 100 years if people knew who raised the barn and when.

We love seeing your barn raisings. Our Mom knit a flag blanket for our aunt once. She said it was so heavy and hot to work on that she doesn't know how she ever finished it.

And your dad is soo special to go and help build that barn. We think of your dad a lot,,, and he is a very special man for so many reasons.

Things are really happening in your part of the world! We're sure your house will be all set for winter soon. Love that 'blanket', what a great present and thank you to your dad for his labour!

Just the sheer number of people it takes to raise that wall ~ well I guess your group could have built the pyramids also. It is wonderful knowing things can be done by hand and not machine still.
Thanks for being a friend

So well said by Sweet William. Your Dad and Mom are both super hard workers1 And we have to say, there's something magical about a barn raising—so many people coming together for such a wonderful project that will stand tall for many, many generations.
