Autumn Flower Friday

We continue to find flowers and beautiful autumn leaves on our walks here~
We love the red on the Virginia Creeper.

 This is Poison Ivy.   Isn't it pretty - but don't touch!
A lot of peeps don't know the difference.   Poison Ivy is three leaves on the stem and Virginia Creeper has five leaves.  

 The Lantana is still so pretty~

 We're not sure what this white annual plant is. 

 The mums are still going strong~

 Love the color of this leathery leaf!

Autumn Collar

Mom ordered me an autumn collar from Miss Rebecca about a month ago.  Seeing as she is in New Zealand, it takes awhile to get here.
It arrived on Saturday and Mackie and I gave it the test to see if I could get it dirty in 5 minutes☺

 We will need to work harder next run, Mackie!

A Very Important Day

Did you know that today is Apple Day☺
Well, it is!

Mackie is here and he wanted to get in on the apple action too~

Today is also Mackie's daddy's birthday!
Happy Birthday, dad!  We hope that you have an extra special day!

And one year ago today, mom's dad went to Heaven to be with her mom♥

We're off to take mom for a walk.   We think she needs it.

Flower Friday

We are joining Rosy for the last Flower Friday in October~~

We have a real autumn day today - chilly and so pretty.    Let's see what flowers are still blooming!

 We found the purple Ageratum still blooming away along with the Dusty Miller~

 This poor little witch was attached to the mailbox post. Isn't she just adorable!

 We haven't had frost yet so we are still finding lots of pretty flowers!

 The Coleus is still going strong~

 Remember the Sourwood tree that we posted a picture of back at the end of July?  We needed help identifying it.   It looks beautiful in its autumn color!

Mackie Learns to Drive

We got an email from dad a couple of days ago.     It seems that he was having dinner at a restaurant with friends.   He had driven his Ford Pick-up and Mackie and Jett were with him waiting in his truck.   Mackie was in the driver's seat and Jett was in the back seat.   He parked his truck right out front where he could keep an eye on the dogs.

Luckily, he glanced up at the right time and he thought that he saw his truck moving.   OMD, he DID see his truck moving!    It was rolling away down the hill in the parking lot!
Dad jumped up and ran out of the restaurant as fast as he could - all along trying to get the key out of his pocket to open the door and stop the runaway truck!

He said that Mackie was looking at him running alongside the truck from the driver's seat.  His truck was heading for a bank in the same parking lot.  Thankfully, his truck crashed softly into a pipe handrail outside the bank where it came to rest.

 He told us that everyone in the restaurant was watching the whole event unfold.    Thank doG no one was hurt!     Dad said that both Mackie and Jett were totally unfazed by Mackie's first driving lesson☺
And by the way - just in case you were wondering.  No doggie engaged the gear shifter.  Dad says that it's a transmission issue that needs to be addressed.


On another note~
Remember the barn raising in May in Northford - two doors down from Dad's house?   It's Miss Heather's barn.   It's all finished and looking just beautiful!
We love it white!

Hey, Mackie.   Don't plan on driving mom's car when you come to visit us☺

This month we are reviewing Nulo Free Style Grain-free Chicken Jerky Strips for Miss Natalie and Chewy.
The chicken treats inside smell absolutely fabulous!

 The yummy ingredients are chicken, apples and coconut and lots of other stuffs that doesn't sound quite as delicious but mom says they're good for me.

A First for Me

I finally had one - my very first Greenie EVER, thanks to the generosity of Miss Natalie and Chewy.

 I can smell the apple!

 So this is what I've been missing all of these years!    What a yummy treat!

 I always thought they were supposed to be bigger, mom.     I can have another one, right?!

I can't wait until tomorrow - it's got to be NOW!

Popcorn and a Movie

Mom decided that yesterday would be a good popcorn and movie day.  It was rainy and depressing.    Mom had never seen this movie before and had high hopes that she would like it.   She's kind of fussy about what she watches.    She said that it was an "okay" movie.   
 

But the best part of popcorn and movie day isn't the movie - it's the popcorn, right☺    So mom made the popcorn before the movie started~
Keep it coming, AirePopper!  We want lots and lots!

 I will wait over here seeing as that machine is making all sorts of scary noises, mom!

 Are you going to share any of that popcorn with me soon?

I hope we can have a popcorn and movie day again soon.  At least this movie had a happy ending!
