We did our review on the Liver Support a couple of weeks ago. Mom has not noticed anything earth shattering about my health or my skin or my poo. I do not have liver issues so if I did, this could be a different story.
Awhile back, we told you about my less-than perfect paws aka hairy dog feets. I did see my vet and he prescribed the Vetoquinol Care, which mom has been giving me until Chewy sent us the Dr Lyons Skin and Coat Support supplement.
As you can see, my feets pretty much still look the same. Mom applies coconut oil daily. We find that the coconut oil works best for me. This condition will not get better. It sounds like I will have the Hyperkeratosis for the rest of my life.
So mom started me on Dr Lyons Skin and Coat supplement several days ago~
Key Benefits
- Formulated with salmon oil rich in omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, plus omega-6 and 9 fatty acids to help support skin and coat health.
- Balanced blend of omegas is formulated to help maintain healthy skin and a lustrous coat, plus normal shedding levels in dogs of all coat types.
- Naturally flavored with cheese and liver for a supplement dogs find rewarding; give them daily for skin and coat support.
- Soft and chewy so they’re easy to give just like you would any treat, according to your dog’s age and weight.
- Comes in a convenient container with an easy-to-open lid to preserve maximum freshness.**
We want to thank Miss Natalie and Miss Kirsten and the Chewy team for letting us try out and review these supplements. We wish that the Skin and Coat supplement would have worked out for me. Salmon oil is a wonderful thing - just not for me.
Geez, mom. You could have chosen a pic that didn't make my butt look so big!
Love ya lots♥
Molly
oh how bad that the salmon oil caused itchies.... our brother Easy was allergic too and we made the same eggs-perience. But maybe your bro will like it and you can share some egg-citing news ;o)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the update. Our only problem with my coat is that I shed a lot. But I also get Salmon when Muzzer cooks it and some salmon from my foodables. Hope you feel better from the tummy upse.

My late esteemed colleague Joey dog had hyperkeratosis on his nose. Ghostwriter put a little olive oil on it every day. When he wasn't eating well, she gave him a spoonful of olive oil or a pat of butter every day for his skin and coat and for the extra calories. He loved it.
ReplyDeleteDear Molly,
ReplyDeleteThat's lot of body stuff you have going on! We are glad that some of it is easy to fix (no more salmon oil). We are sorry to hear about your paws.
I will have your salmon oil! Do you think it would help with the matted fur that suddenly happened on my butt? I am sure it would. Yes. Salmon oil. Cheese. Liver. I must get the salmon oil. With cheese and liver. *drool*
Licks,

That is too bad about the salmon oil bothering you, Molly. But at least you gave it a try. We hope the coconut oil continues to help your poor feeties.

We will try all different things until we find something that will work for us. It was nice of Chewy to let you try it.
ReplyDeleteHairy feet it is a wonder I don't have hairy feet for Lee rubs lanolin oil on my pads to keep them soft. So sad you are allergic to salmon for I love the skin Lee gives me when she grills salmon for herself.

That's too bad this supplement couldn't help you. We use sardine/anchovy oil; but I imagine you are maybe allergic to all fish? Coconut oil is wonderful too, and Luke just loves it. I can't use it on his skin though because he will just lick it all off! :)
