Walkies on Tuesday

Mom decided at 11 am, when it warmed up to 17 degrees F, that we would go for our walk!  YAY!
It took FOREVER for her to get ready to head out the door.   She had to make sure that I had Musher's Secret on my paws and that she had her Stabilizers on.
She decided to play it safe and go through the garage and out the back door to avoid the icy steps.
I am one happy girl to be outside and going for my walk!
You can't tell by any of these photos and it's really a shame but all of the ice covered bushes and trees look they were covered in diamonds and with the sun hitting them it was blinding and so sparkly and gorgeous!
It smells like Christmas out here~
We are 100% positive that this is the tree branch (what's left of it) and fell on the wires and caused us to lose our electricity.   A couple of hours before we lost our power, a fire engine went by the front of our house with his siren on and he stopped at the corner just a short ways down the street and we could see a backhoe moving to the scene.
We feel so fortunate that we were only without power for 3 hours and it was at the beginning of the storm so the temps weren't that frigid yet.    One of mom's friends on facebook that lives in Bethany, CT,  about 20-25 minutes away from us, lost her power and she was without for 28 hours!   We can't imagine how cold it got inside her house.  Luckily, her electricity has been restored and they are warm and happy.
That a beautiful day even though it's cold and nothing is melting.   The wind is not whipping today, which makes it feel almost balmy!
Don't post that picture, mom.  It makes my hiney look HUGE!
Love ya lots♥

We were finally able to get out on a short one today -- doesn't it feel good to get out and about?!!? ..of course now it's freezing raining and switching to snow. Here we go again!

Molly my friend I hear you on the ice etc. That is what we get here about 95% of the time. Ice and power lines and trees are a bad mix.
Thank goodness your power wasn't out too long. The last pic of you with the icy trees in the background is very pretty.....but your beauty glitters the ice trees
And OMDs I missed yesterday post I see why know your power was out early in the day. -3....makes my bones hurt

The snow always looks good when you can't feel the cold (or experience the slush later).

But be careful, we think there is a strange animal peering at you from amongst those trees in the last photo....right over your head. Could be Big Foot.

You were very fortunate to have escaped the worst of the ice damage. Our human BIL's parents were without power here a week ago for four days. It warmed up a lot here today and we now have mud. But tonight they are promising a Flash Freeze followed by a little snow.

Glad to see you staying warm with your handsome coat on.

I am so glad that you got out to walk!!!! Your trees and bushes do look glorious. It is hard to capture the sparking diamond look. I recently realized that the reason is that the sparkling only happens when your eyes are moving!!!

We’re glad you and your Mom are warm again. The Muzzer i is in dc watching the damn cat, and she thinks she is gonna come home with frostbites on he toe s and fingers!

It is not you rear that looks big, it is your brown coat. It is just close enough in color to your furs that it looks like part of you!

Ice storms are horrible, but they are also beautiful. Glad your power wasn't out for long. My gramma loses power a lot and sometimes for a long time like a day or so. She lives in a forest, and I think that is the problem. Sending you ice melting thoughts.

We got to play outside yesterday for the first time in forever because it was in the 20's! We hope the ice melts soon so more trees don't fall down.

It's cold here and there's a very cold wind that has brought down many tree branches. We hurry out to pee, then rush back in to nap in the warm living room curled in blankets.

Ghostwriter remembers the great ice storm of 1991. Our power was out for a week, and there were fallen trees and power lines everywhere! That's why she's always a bit worried whenever our trees get covered with ice. Glad you got to take a nice walk, though.

It's a good thing your mom played it safe. Those icy steps can be dangerous sometimes. Looks like you had a wonderful walk even though it was really cold. Thanks for sharing the lovely photos. Have a great rest of your day.

Sometimes I think it takes us longer to get ready for our walk, than we actually spend out there! :)
