Nature Friday

We are joining Arty today for Nature Friday~

Off we go~
 We found some long mahogany snakes!   Mom looked them up and we think they're pods from a Locust tree.  
 A beautiful autumn basket on a lamp post~
 No more pictures of me, mom!
 We are still finding Bittersweet along our walks.   It's so pretty!
We're almost home.

    Those snakey things are locust pods. There are two kinds, one is toxic and one isn't. We have the safe kind in our yard and they're one of our favorite snacks. We crunch them up when they fall off the tree.

    Well I'll be a monkey's Aunt I had no idea Locust trees had pretty pods.

    Oh, that Bittersweet is SO pretty! I don't think we have any of that around here. Nice walk, Molly! We finally got out again today, and saw lots of wildlife tracks in the snow. Luke's nose was in overdrive! :)
