We are joining Phenny and Nelly today for In Purrsuit of Flavours~
One of mom's very favorite things to make is homemade pizza. It's is soooooo easy and soooooo good!
The first thing mom does is to spread shortening liberally over her cookie sheet.
The simple directions are to spread one pound of dough with pesto that you find in a jar in the pasta aisle of your grocery store. You can arrange plum tomato slices on top of the pesto if you wish to but mom likes it better without this time of the year because tomatoes don't taste like tomatoes until summer. Add torn slices of mozzerella and arrange evenly over the pesto. Sprinkle with oregano, basil, pepper and parmesan cheese. Now sprinkle with a very tiny bit of olive oil.
Bake pizza on the bottom shelf of your oven at 475 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Let it cool before you dig in . This is the hardest part☺
It's so easy to make and so yummy!
This is no April fool's joke. I got 2 huge pieces☺
Happy April First!
Love ya lots♥
Molly
Oh that looks so yummy. I used to make pizzas all the time when the Boys were growing up and now they buy the ready made ones from the grocery store as they all want different toppings and it would be the size of a bucket to make one whole one!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think, as we have time at the moment, I should have another go at it for DH and I!!!!!!
Molly you are lucky, Treacle loves pizza too and usually gets my crusts.
Happy April and Happy Wednesday.
Hugs, Susie & Treacle xx

I've been doing pizza quite often, I'll have to try pesto pizza.
ReplyDeleteWe love to make pizza though we use stone bread for crust. Lee loves pesto sauce on top of ricotta cheese ravioli then some parmesan. Yummy yummy.

ReplyDeleteOh yes, I like to make pizza now and then - and in between when can't be bothered making the dough, I spread tomato pesto on bread, then cheese and jalapenos and maybe sweetcorn or asparagus and grill that. Oh yeah... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Well I'll be I had no idea. I will look there. We are going for fresh fruits on Saturday. This will be a good change to what we have been having.
