Nature Friday

We are joining Sunny this week for Nature Friday~

Our Magnolia is in full glorious bloom!

Each flower is so pretty~
The tulips are beginning to bloom!
If you remember, two years ago, we had a robin build a nest in our rhododendron outside our picture window.  We were devastated when a predator stole her young babies.
A week or so ago, we had a pair of cardinals deciding if they wanted to build in our rhododendron.  We have never watched a cardinal family build and we were excited but nervous at the same time.  A robin must have been watching the cardinal pair the entire time as they brought over twigs and started to build.   It wasn't long before she decided that this was to be HER spot and the cardinal couple let her have the spot they had chosen.
This is the Mrs Robin's nest farther off the ground then the last one and harder for mom to see inside to keep an eye on things.  Mrs Robin has started spending more time sitting and  if mom stands on her tippy toes at the window,  she can see an egg in there.   There could be more but she can only see one.
Fingers and paws are crossed for her~~
Happy Friday, everybuddy!
Love ya lots♥
Molly

  2. It looks warm, sunny, and pretty there. We still have dead as a door nail here, but maybe next week the sun will come and warm things up. For now, cold and rain headed our way again.

  11. We like your color coordinated flowers. The tree is gorgeous. We have tones of Cardinals and they often build their nests in dangerous places.

  17. Mom and me (Cinnamon) went to Penticton (in the Okanagan) yesterday and we were both so happy to see all the flowering trees! There were some magnificent Magnolias! Our altitude is a little to high (and cold) for them to grow very well. They are magnificent trees! And the one you have a photo if is most beautiful. We hope the robin does not lose her babies to the predators this year and you can see the babies learn to fly! Molly, we hope you and your Peeps have a marvellously Happy Week! Cinnamon

  18. We have some yew bushes in front of our house. Every year the birdies fight over who gets to nest there. No one has claimed it yet! We loved seeing those pretty magnolia flowers!

  19. Lulu: "What pretty flowers you have! We're already progressing to things turning brown here, I'm afraid, but the flowers that are watered are still blooming, so there's that!"

  20. Oh sweet story. Magnolia blossom is so pretty. We have baby birds in our window. We can't go in the room. We have hurricane shutters so they can hop out of nest onto the window sill. Yesterday I carefully went into room to see them.
