We been having beautiful fall-like weather and we are loving it!
The bees are visiting our Hostas~We are joining Rosy today for Nature Friday~~
We didn't do too much walking this week due to the wet weather.
The Black Eye's Susans are looking so pretty and so cheerful in our garden~We need to explain~
Mom must have worded the news about Mackie, Jett and Teddy wrong. They will not be going anywhere. They will all be staying in their home to live out their days. At least, that is the plan at this time. We are so sorry for any confusion.
On another note - our Butterfly bushes - Miss Molly and Miss Violet and doing wonderfully!
But look at poor, Miss Ruby. She made it through the winter just fine and she actually was beginning to bloom but thing went downhill for her. Mom isn't certain yet if she wants to replace her or choose a different bush or do nothing. She has been cut down to the ground as it was too sad to leave her in this state. We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday~~
We changed up our route this week and discovered a beautiful daylily!
Mom walked us farther than we have ever walked before because of this gorgeous hibiscus!Mom had whole dates that she wanted to use so she decided to make Date Nut Muffins.
The recipe:
Nine ounces of pitted and coarsely chopped dates, 3/4 cup boiling water, 1/2 cup of oil (we used canola), and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Stir these four ingredients together.
Mix in 1 cup all purpose flour, 1/2 cup whole wheat flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and 1/3 cup coarsely chopped walnuts. Grease muffin pan and spoon in the prepared mixture.
