This time of year, mom makes lots of soups. This soup has ingredients in it that she loves so she didn't follow a recipe for this one. It's sausage and spinach and carrots and celery and lentils and black olives in a chicken stock base. She rarely makes a soup that doesn't contain black olives because she really loves them.
I got a carrot stick~
I love celery!Mom loves a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese when it's time for dinner~
Today is the perfect day for soup - actually, we think that every day is the perfect day for soup~And for dessert - yes, I love bananas too!
Today, we honor our Veterans and thank them for their service to our country and for keeping us safe.
Love ya lots♥
Duke

yes it is the perfect time for soup and yours look super fantabulous... quasi soup-er delicious
ReplyDeleteDuke it's soup time around here also. I like this recipe and I'm definitely going to be making it. When it comes to soup I like to try different kinds. And it's so cold today. Thanks for the Veterans Day reminder. It's very important day.
ReplyDeleteOur mom likes soup too. She made a big pot of lentil vegetable soup the other day. Olivia likes to eat the carrots when Mom is peeling and chopping them. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteOh yes, I'm a bit of a soupaholic, I admit... though I don't believe I have ever used olives in one, much as I enjoy them. Hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
We are both drooling as that soups looks good and sounds good -
ReplyDeleteWe don't have many bananas here - Mom doesn't NOT like them - but there other yummies ahead of them -

ReplyDeleteI linked this post to Happy Tuesday.
Have a fabulous day and week. Scritches to handsome Duke. ♥
Looks a tasty soup. I made meat pies and mincemeat tarts last week but they're for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteSoup sounds so good, Duke! Mom loves black olives but never thought about adding to soup. I think she will try very soon! Juno xo
ReplyDeleteThat soup sounds delish, Duke. We could really use it to warm us up today since we had our firs snow fall.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoy soups here, especially in the Winter. Veterans are special. We must always remember and honor our heroes!
ReplyDeleteLulu: "I'm with you, Duke, crunchy vegetables are the best! Although I have been known to eat a banana or bit of avocado too."
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, you are SO Californian, Lulu."
Charlee: "We send our purrs to all the veterans who served to help protect us!"
Lulu: "And we dogs send lots of tail wags!"
You eat very healthily! Thank you to all who served.
ReplyDeleteOh, we love soup, too! Yours sounds quite hearty!
ReplyDeleteThat soup looks so good. I love making lots of stews in our slow cooker at this time of year. Everything goes in it and it is great to have it ready early evening when DH gets home. It is an honour that we are able to remember the Veterans who gave their lives for our lives and those that were injured. Hugs & Love Susie & Coco xx
