Nature Friday

We are joining Rosy for Nature Friday~~

We found a lone chestnut on the ground.  Mom told me to be careful because they are prickly if you touch it.
We looked up and discovered that the plant identifier is saying that this is Winter Creeper ( Euonymus fortunei).   Mom thought it was bittersweet.
We found a pretty swag on a mailbox~
On Wednesday's walk, we checked in with Santa and the Unicorn.  They are both under the influence this time☺
At home, two of our African Violets are blooming.  She has six or seven plants and she does all of the right things for them and they only bloom a couple of times a year and not all of them bloom.  She gets discouraged with them a lot.
Thank you for your beautiful Christmas card, Miss Laurie.  We love it!
Happy Friday!

Love ya lots♥
Duke

  1. I have one African violet Duke. It does bloom once or twice a year. Don't we love seeing the flowers when it happens though. They look almost as pretty as you look handsome

  3. Santa and the unicorn under the influence made us laugh. A lot of inflatables seem to be under the influence we have noticed on our walks. The creeper berries are really pretty, no matter what they are. Now you all need some snow!

  4. Nice photos, Duke! Can you please tell your Mom that #1 made the Sausage & Potato soup yesterday and she says it's delicious! Thank you for sharing the recipe!

  5. When inflatables go bad....eh?

Nice your violets are blooming - the one Mom's GKP office mate gave her last year is still doing well with growth - and maybe some flowers soon - despite The Khottage's style of minimal fuss for pretty much anything - except for me!

I am glad I got to participate in The GKP's holiday meal - albeit 'remotely' -

  10. I have two violets and mine bloom quite often. Seems like one or the other always has blooms. I think the secret is the light they get because I don't feed them as often as recommended. I forget. But I am faithful about watering them once a week from the bottom, never on top of the soil.

I don't think I want to know what mischief Santa and Unicorn have been getting into! The African Violets are one of the most frustrating plants... I never managed them - or cyclamen. I admire mum's patience! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  12. Hi Duke! Mom and Nutcase saw some inflatables that looked like that when they walked to the post office! Seeing yours, made her laughs outloud! We LOVE how festive everything looks on your blog and we have posted your Christmas Card on our Christmas Card page. Thanks! Keep being AWESOME! Marvelous Marv
