Sundays' Walk on Monday

It was warm yesterday morning around 7am so we stuck to walking where we knew there would be more shade.     The Choke Cherry is blooming and yes, we had to look this one up.   Mom was hoping that it smelled pretty but nope.

We found a Crab Apple Tree in bloom~
Who knew these flowers would match the beautiful blog header that Miss Ann made for us!
This plant is growing everywhere and we looked this one up too.   It's called Garlic Mustard.  Thankfully, it's easy to rip out as mom finds it in her gardens where she doesn't want it.
I think I may be getting warm, mom~
I take that back.   It's hot, mom!
Time to head back home~

Happy Monday!

Love ya lots♥
Duke

  1. Duke, we love seeing your flowers. But that nasty garlic mustard Lynn has to pull it up around the edges of our property to keep it from coming all the way over. And it really takes over the whole bicycle path that she gets to ride. We love this smell of the tall wild cherry trees. And we do enjoy seeing your new header.

  2. Pretty white flowers, the first one looks like one we have in our yard but Mom didn't know what it was. It was hot here Friday and Saturday, now it is back to cooler weather.

  8. Java Bean: "Ayyy, our Dada likes garlic, and our Dada likes mustard ... I wonder if he would try eating that plant if he found it. I know what *I* would do with it, of course! I would—"
Lulu: "We all know what you would do, Bean."

  17. Ooh! I love your new header!
That garlic mustard while not toxic, (it is even edible...), is very invasive, and it crowds our the natural plants, and also sends out some kind of inhibitory chemical so that is doesn't have competition. I have worked for over 30 years, trying to eradicate it from our yard...now if only the neighbors would do that...
I wish we would grow some choke cherry in our yard...will have to look into that.
Our weeping cherry tree did not blossom for us this year, and when I look at it now that it is leafed out, it appears that it may be dying. It is a very OLD tree. I will have to consult an arborist one of these days to get an opinion. (At least I have lots of pictures from when it was in its springtime glory.)

    Stay cool!!
