Groomies

Mom groomed me today! It really was against her better judgement because it's so cold out but I hate being hot and I'm miserable when I'm hot and mom knows it!

Sunday night the whole family was in the family room watching the Giants-Packers football game with the fireplace going and the candle lit - a real special Sunday it was - and I was in the kitchen, trying to stay as far away from that heated up room as possible!

But I got my way! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I feel so much better and so much younger! When mom grooms me, for that entire day I act like I'm one year old instead of almost 10! I play with toys and tear around the house and today I was a real B***H to Mitch! (hey, that rhymes) I chased him around and snapped at his hiney and basically gave him everything he totally deserves!

So here I am after eating my dindin finally laying down to enjoy my bone, which by the way, I used to do ALL the time until Mitch came and now it's a rare occurrence!

Do you see this? I want you all to know that we have FOUR of this very same bone! One of them is this chocolate color and we have 2 tan ones that we got for Christmas and we have 1 that's a lighter color! But this doesn't matter to Mitch! If I'm enjoying it - he HAS to have the one that I have! What a pain!

He stares at me and then his stump tail starts to wag and then slowly but surely he swipes it away from me! He very slowly and meticulously reaches down and gently snags it! He doesn't care that I growl and protest! He takes it anyway because he's a spoiled, mean little brother!

But I'm a good sister and I give it up willingly but not before I give him the raspberries! hehehehe

So until next time.................

Maggie

Online Dog Matching

Our mom was reading about the online dog matching at Huskee and Harry and Cassidy's blog and she wanted to give it a try!

Mom's top 5 matches are:

Number 1 - the Portuguese Water dog It says he likes the water! He doesn't know it but our mom isn't all that fond of the water! She prefers the sand and reading her book on the beach!

Number 2 - the Airedale Terrier! Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, now how come he didn't appear in the number 1 slot?

Number 3 - the Wheaten Terrier! At least it's another Terrier, right?!

Number 4 - the Puli?????????????? How the heck did we get him! I guess because mom doesn't mind the grooming?? Sheesh! Are there eyes underneath all those cords?

And Number 5 - the Australian Cattle dog! He's supposed to be smart and loyal! Hey, so are we!

That was fun! If you haven't tried it out you might want to do so and post your results so we can all see how accurate this site is!

Every single morning in dad's workshop Mitch and I have a conversation to start off our day. This is how it goes ~

So until next time..............

Gifts for the Most Improved Beard from Stanley

My package came in the mail today from Stanley for being a runner up for the First Annual GooberStanian Beard Contest! whooooohoooooooooo Thank you so much, Stanley! I sure do like this getting pressies in the mail stuff!

Hey Mitch, this bag has MY name on it - not yours! Back off, buddy!

OMG, check this out! Another treat that I've never had before! I can't WAIT to get at it! Thank you, Stanley!

And another snozzle! They are the BEST! Mitch and I so enjoyed the last ones that you sent! I'm sure one lucky girl!

Stanley even took pity on Mitch and sent him a little something too. Awwwwwwwwwwwww, Mitch is feeling better about things now - you're so sweet to tuck a little something in there for him too! Mitch says he'll be entering that beard contest for sure next year and he's hoping to get a bag with his name on it!

We have rain today and it's just so yucky and dreary out! We know what we'll be doing to make today more fun!

So I leave you with mom's very favorite beard picture of me! She says that I'm the prettiest bearded girl that she's ever seen!

Thank you so much for creating this challenge, Stanley! I sure did have fun playing along and taking my monthly measurements!

By the way, mom hasn't touched the length of my beard so maybe by next January, my beard will reach 6 or 7 inches, just shy of Dovah Doo's spectacular length!

So until next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Another Tag Game

We have been tagged by our friend Marvin to play this game.

I'm red and Mitch wants to play too so he's blue today!

1. If you could be any animal, what would you be?

I choose a teddy bear cub because they're cute and cuddly.

And I choose a moose because that's what mom and dad call me most of the time anyway!

2. If you could live anywhere, where would you live?

I want to live in Alaska in the wintertime! I hate the heat!

And I want to live near Joey and Tanner in Arizona! I like to be warm!

3. What is your favourite music?

We both like classical. It's calming and relaxing and we both need this after a good round of biteyface!
Yup, I totally agree, Maggie!

Finally,

4. What job would you like to have?

I would like to work in the kitchen at a bakery so I could sample all the cookies as they come out of the oven.

And I would like to be a farmer so I could plant and eat all kinds of vegetables, especially celery! Hey, Maggie! Check this out! They make celery cookies! How do these sound to you?!

We are going to tag Hercules and Ike to play the game! Have fun guys!

So until next time...................

Our Tongues and one more Award

Asta and Stanley have been posting pictures of their tongues and we wanted to show everyone that we have pretty pink tongues too! This is an older picture and my tongue even has a hint of ice cream on it! We haven't been getting ice cream lately and we sure do miss it!

Mitch says ice cream sounds like a great idea to him too! So dad - if you're listening, and it's okay that it's snowing out - we still NEED our ice cream!

Momo and Pinot awarded us the So Special award. Thank you so very, very much! You guys are pretty special to us too!

We would like to pass this award onto Ellie and Snowball! We think you guys are pretty special too!

So until next time..................

A Christmas Gift and M&M

The mailman surprised us today with a Christmas pressie from Boy and Baby! That mailman was sure holding out on us! We can't believe the nerve of him!

They sent us the cutest card! It says Merry Chrismoose! We call Mitch moosieboy all the time so this card was just the perfect choice!

Guess what they sent us? Dog paw Christmas stockings! Thank you so much! We don't have Christmas stockings - we are so unloved - so we are very excited about this! Now next year mom will have to fill our stockings for us!

Can you tell that they are in the shape of a dog's paw? Aren't they just so cute?! I want the red one and Mitch gets the green one!

They also sent a wrapped package for mom! What's in there?

It's girly creams for mom's hands and they also sent this neat buffer for mom's nails! When mom was in the Mall before Christmas, one of the vendors pulled mom over and buffed her thumb nail and when she was all finished it looked like they had put clear nail polish on mom's nail but the whole shine was all from this buffer! Now mom has her own and she is super psyched! Thank you so much!!! Mom is thrilled with your gifts and so are we! You guys are so sweet!

And speaking of girly stuff, our mom needed a new tube of chapstick and look what she found! It's chocolate M&M chapstick! Mom says it tastes fabulous. I asked her if she could put some on my lips for me so that I could see for myself!

yummmmmmmm - that does taste pretty yummy mom and wouldn't you just know it! In walks Mitch and he wants to try some too!

What a doofus! It's not for boys, silly! Mitch doesn't like to be left out of anything!

So until next time............

Love ya lot,

Maggie

Seven Wierd Things About Us and Another Award

We got tagged by Abby, Rosie, Jackie, Gidget & Fritz to post 7 weird things about ourselves. Here are the rules:
Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog. Share seven random and/or weird facts about yourself. Tag seven random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a notification on their blog.

I'll go first this time~

1. I hate getting my tootsies wet when we're out on a walkie! I'll go around the puddle instead of through it!

2. I like to get up super early and I nudge mom at 4AM so she'll get up too! Sometimes she's agreeable and sometimes she'd rather sleep a wee bit longer!

3. I like to eat spinach but only the stem part. The leaf part is icky!

4. When mom gives me something that I've never had before, I take it ever so gingerly in my teefies - just in case she's trying to poison me!

Okay, Mitch - it's your turn~

1. I run and hide from very small children. Mom and dad think that something negative must have happened when I lived in the pet store at one time to make me react this way!

2. If I'm laying on my back and you scratch my chest, my back leg will move like I'm scratching myself! Mom thinks this is hysterical! Silly mom!

3. After I poo, I leap away from the smelly remains! If mom isn't holding tight to my leash, I'd be gone cause I move like the speed of lightning!

I guess that's our seven wierd things!

Now we'd like to tag our good friend, Putter, and our new friend, Finni, Scruffy, Lacie and Stan, Kirby and Amber Mae. Tell us 7 wierd things about yourselves!

We also want to thank Sitka and Tia, Maya and Kena, Molly and Taffy, Sweety, Gus and Louie and Harry and Cassidy for the "You Make my Day" award! Thank you so much! Reading all of your blogs really does make our day - along with everyone else's blog! We love you guys!

So until next time............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

My New Food Dish

Hi Everybody! Mitch here!

One of my new year's resolutions was to try to eat more slowly and savor every delicious bite and my dear friend, Ivy went and mentioned the brake-fast bowl and mom had a look at the link that Ivy left in the comment section and thought that Ivy's idea was BRILLIANT and now I'm the proud owner of a brand new red brake-fast bowl! Gee, thanks a whole lot, Ivy!

This is a very strange invention, mom! Do I have to eat around these stoopid looking pillars?

Mom wasn't quite sure how to serve breakfast to me this morning! Maggie and I eat from both sides of Maggie's crate - me on one side and her on the other and it works out well. The brake-fast bowl didn't really fit into our dish holders so mom put my red bowl on the floor and it was a fiasco! It slid everywhere and food was flying all over and I was getting frustrated plus Maggie finished first and was helping me clean up my mess! grrrrrrrr Mom promised me that it would get better!

Din din was much better! Mom got smarter and removed our big water dish and the brake-fast bowl slid right into the slot - no fuss, no muss!

Mom wants to report that it takes me about 3 times longer to eat my food now and she says that this is a VERY good thing! Maggie finished first again and came to see what was taking me so long!

I'm sticking to my resolution, Maggie! I'm taking my time! See how happy I look about the
whole new experience!

I forgot to mention that when we opened the shipping box that the brake-fast bowl came in, there were free treats! We finally got to taste sweet potatoe chips that everyone talks about and there was a gingerbreadman treat too! Can we order from Barkaholics again, mom? How about a brake-fast bowl for Maggie!

We also want to thank Blue, the Thuglet Airedales and Lacylulu for awarding us this very special Bloggers of the World award! Thank you so much! We are so honored! You guys are the BEST! We consider every single one of our blogging friends "Bloggers of the World" so we award all of you - every single one of you! Post it to your blog and give yourselves a big pat on the back!

So until next time..............

Mitch

A Birthday Gift for a Special Tiny Girl

Mom had to run errands today and she asked me if I wanted to go along! SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We hit the first bank and I got a cookie and we hit bank #2 and I got another cookie and than mom tells me that we're going to Petco to buy a birthday gift for someone's whose birthday just happens to be this month!

I'm not tellin' who but I bet you'll guess by the pictures who we're shopping for!

Mom has actually never been in this aisle of the store before so there's another dead give-away clue! There were just so many choices and it's always such fun buying for someone else to surprise them!

When we were up at the cash register paying and getting ready to leave, the cashier asked me if I'd like a cookie! Geeeeeeeeeeeee, hummmmmmmmmmmmmm, let me think about this!!! hehehehe Of course! I'm no dummy!

So now we have to wrap up our pressie and ship it off tomorrow! I like shopping with mom! That was really fun!

So until next time...............

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Most Improved Beard Runner Up

The first annual beard challenge is officially over and I'm sure that the next time mom grooms me, my beard will be trimmed shorter so why not have some fun with it, right?!

In case you're wondering, mom found some moustache wax in our medicine chest and she wanted to see just how it would work and seeing as dad no longer has a beard and I do, I was elected!

How do you like the sweet curl at the end of my braid? Isn't it just too cute!!

This has been such fun! Many thanks to Stanley for organizing the beard competition and I'm sure that Dovah Doo has paused from his romping with Oscar and Harley and so many others and is looking down and smiling at all of us Terriers who are trying to reach his magnificent length of 8 inches!! You're still safe, Dovah!

Congrats to Buster, for the longest beard! Whooohooooooooo! Way to go, Buster at 5 3/4 inches! That's just awesome! Are you giving away any beard growing secrets?

Congratulations also to Molly for winning the most improved beard category! You must have been rubbing something in there, girlfren to get that beard to grow almost 2 1/2 inches in just 3 months time! Was it apple juice or something else! You can tell me - I can keep a secret!

Thank you to all the Terriers who entered - girls and guys! You made this all so much fun! I hope we can do this again next year! Maybe we need to start from right now growing out those beards!

So mom, maybe you'd best not trim mine if I'm going to ever have any chance of catching Dovah Doo!

So until next time..................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Our First Time with a Snozzle

Mom finally said that we could break out the snozzles that Stanley and Stella sent us for Mitch's first birthday! We've never tasted these before and we've been begging mom all week to please let us have them!

Here I am patiently waiting for mine like the good girl that I am!

And here's Mitch! Mom told him to sit and wait - well, you can see how well he listens!

These are very crunchy and yummilicious!

Mitch devoured his so we know that he REALLY liked it! Most all of the time Mitch finishes before I do! Mom took videos of both of us with our snoozles! Mitch is first! Isn't he ALWAYS!

And now me!

Enjoy!

So until next time.................

Our New Year's Resolutions

We've never really made new year's resolutions before but we figure that maybe this might be a good year to give it a whirl.

Mitch and I have promised each other that we're going to try very hard to keep them!
You go first, Mitch~

1. I'm going to try very hard not to be so destructive! This is going to be a toughy because I'm really still a puppy but I promise to try, with lots of mom's help, of course!

2. I'm going to try not to antagonize Maggie so much! I shove stuff in her face all the time but I just wanna play! She gets mad at me sometimes. I'm sorry, Maggie! I'll try harder not to make you mad, okay?

3. Mom says that I need to eat more slowly so we're going to work on that! She's says that emptying my food dish in 30 seconds is eating too fast!

4. Dad says that I need to start peeing like a boy and stop squatting like a sissy! Okay, dad! I'll try real hard and make you proud of me, okay?

I guess that about wraps it up for me!

Your turn, Maggie~

1. I'm going to try my hardest to be nicer to the mailman!

2. And I'm going to try even harder to be more accepting of the UPS man putting his nasty dirty shoes on my back porch! grrrrrrrrrrrr I'm gonna try, I really am! I'm gonna try really hard!

3. I'm going to learn to love lemons! hehehe - this one will really shock mom! Can you see me puckering up already?!

4. I'm going to turn over a new leaf and stop yaking so much! Why should I waste my precious breath when no one appreciates it!

Mitch and I have a whole year to work on these resolutions so there's no time like the present to get started!

We also want to let everyone know that we're going to help out on the Beau mission too! We're not toopers in the Ao4 but we love Beau and want him reunited with his family!

Thanks to Ruby we now have our official helmets! Thank you so much, Ruby! With these helmets on our heads, we're on the job!

We're going to try our darndest! We'll leave no stone unturned, right Mitch?!

So get your mission kits and join us and help us find Beau! We want him home in 2008!

So until next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie
