Sunny Saturday

We have a beautiful day here today!  Tomorrow, we're supposed to get a dusting of snow and then rain on top of it so we have to enjoy today to the fullest!

 Could the sky be any bluer!

 I couldn't possibly be any happier!

 Hey, Millie.   Mom asked me to do a donut and this was the closest that I came to it.    Not too impressive, huh.

 We played lots of ball too and now my ball is on top of the radiator drying out.  It's pretty soggy.

 I need a break, mom.  It's 45 degrees F and it's hot!

 Today is the bestest day ever!

Nature Friday

We are joining Arty this week for Nature Friday~

We are finding less and less interesting stuffs to post about but we continue to look.  Sooner or later, the flowers will appear again, right?!

 Miss Laura never brought her garden ornie inside for the winter.   At least it's colorful in the drab of winter.

 The lighthouse at the edge of this small pond is lit.   It has such a pretty setting.

 These duckies are mad with me because I jumped at the fence and woke them up and sent them flying into the water for safety.

 We found a hornet's nest way up high in the tree~

Wonderful Wednesday

The snowGods have been so good to me.  They sent me ten more inches of snow to play in on Monday!

 This snow is wetter and heavier than the last snow we had.

 But it's still SuperDuper Fun!

 Mom remembered to bring my ball out~

 Will you pick it up please.  It's cold on my teeth.

 I wish the snow could stay 365 days a year!

 What do you mean it's time to head back inside~

 Mom bought me a package of Whimzees because you guys did such great reviews and she didn't want me to miss out.   Thanks, guys!   Whimzees are good, although I did down mine in five minutes, which is exactly how mom thought it would go.

Tasty Tuesday

Mom has been wanting to make a Kalamata Olive bread for awhile.  She bought one at the grocery store awhile back and loved it so she's been searching for a recipe to make one herself.  She found quick bread recipes that use milk and she found yeast bread recipes that use the kalamata olive juice brine and that one sounded more flavorful to her so that's the one that she chose.

Ingredients

• 1/3 to 1/2 cup brine from olives
• 1 cup warm water (enough to make 1 1/2 cups when combined with brine)
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 3 cups bread flour
• 1 2/3 cups whole-wheat flour
• 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 1 1/2 teaspoons basil (dried leaf)
• 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
• 1/2 to 2/3 cup olives (finely chopped kalamata, about 2 dozen pitted olives)

She didn't have dried basil so she used Mrs Dash's salt-free Italian Medley.   She adds it to soups and pretty much everything.  

You had to be here to smell it baking away in the bread machine.   It was driving us both NUTS with the Italian aroma from the spice mix!

 Is there anything more yummy than warm bread with butter?  Mom doesn't think so.

 It smells delicious and tastes yummy, mom!

We both give it a TEN and we will be making this recipe again!

My Birthday Wish

It's My Birthday

Today is my 7th Birthday and I am helping mom prepare my birthday "cake"~

 We decided on meatloaf with yogurt frosting and carrot candles.  Don't worry - the meatloaf doesn't have any onions in it.

 I'm blowing out the candles and making a wish!    I bet you all know what I'm wishing for☺

Nature Friday

We are joining Rosy this week for Nature Friday.

We got a dusting of light fluffy snow overnight on Wednesday!   Snow is so yummy~

 Mom made me a new neck warmer for my birthday that's coming up on Sunday.   It has purple hearts on it♥

Now about the nature - mom didn't have her camera on this particular day earlier in the week, so we brought the nature home with us.   These are balls from a Sycamore tree.

 And of course, she wanted to know what was inside~

 She didn't know what to do with them so she put them in the bowl with the pomanders.
