An Early Birthday Gift

Hi everybody! My birthday is 4 only days away and I got an early birthday gift in the mail yesterday! Maggie said that I can post on her blog as long as it's birthday related! Isn't she the most kind and caring sister!

Anyway, my gift came from Butchy and Snickers! I can't believe this package has MY name on it and I get to open it all by myself! This is just too much fun! Mom told me originally that I had to wait to open it till my birthday, but I whined to Butchy and Snickers and they said that I could open it! Yeaaaaaaaaa! Thank you!

Maggie was standing right there beside me watching me open the package all by myself! It's so exciting!

OMG, I got bully sticks! I've read so much about these from you other doggies and have always wanted to taste one. This wrapper contains TWO of them! I think I'll be a nice brother and share one with Maggie! I do love you, Maggie. You're the bestest sister and I'm so happy to be living with you, ya know!

The bully sticks weren't the only pressie in there! Butchy and Snickers sent me a beautiful new collar too! It has colorful little bones all around it! I love it! Mom says that red is so striking on me and we can't stop admiring it! It even has a special paw tag on it that jingles when I race through the house!

And check out my card! It's my very first birthday card ever and I'm so psyched! Mom says that we can display it on the mantle for everyone to see!

Thank you so much, Butchy and Snickers! I love my pressies from you guys so much! This birthday stuff is sure a lot of fun! And thank you Maggie for letting me post!

Till next time.............

Yer friend,

Mitch

Two Special Awards

Lorenza has given Mitch and I this Community blogger award and we feel so honored that she chose us!

Using her words, she said:
"This award 'The Community Blog Award' is to recognize bloggers who celebrate those who reach out and make the blogger community a better one. It also underlines the importance of a blog's readership community, one of the most rewarding parts about blogging. It's those who come back to comment, adding to the conversation, making you feel like someone is listening and interested".

Thank you SOOOOOOO much, Lorenza!

And now we need to pass it on and this is the hardest part because all of you fit into that category! We're going to pass it on to Stanley and Stella, Chance and Bogie. Keep up the good work, guys!

We also were awarded the "Be the Blog" award from Agatha and Archie. Gosh, how can we be so lucky - two awards at at time! We're just blown away by your generosity!

This award is presented to a successful blogger, one who can “be the blog” - making it their own, staying with it, interacting with the readers, and just plain having fun."

Agatha and Archie were MOST generous handing out this award so Mitch and I agree that anyone that wasn't on their list - you're on our list! So everyone, please consider yourself awarded!

So until next time..................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

The Michigan/Penn State Game

You all know that I went to Scruffy and Lacie's for the poker game last night! I had so much fun and no, I didn't overdo it! I wanted to be fresh for today's game and not have a huge headache! The snackies were awesome and I learned how to cheat at playing poker! shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I'm not supposed to tell you that! It's our secret, okay?!

Well, today we've been invited to go to the Michigan/Penn State game!

Sam I Am is driving us in his Whippet wagon all the way to Michigan where he'll drop us off and do zoomies back to Paducah to get his Therapy Dog test.
Then he'll zoom back to Michigan to pick us Fun Dogs back up and take us home.
Isn't he such a sweetheart!

Mom has agreed to let Mitch go because he was a good boy last night and held his poos - so no accidents! Yea Mitch!!

Mitch and I are very excited to be going! We don't know a thing about college football seeing as dad only watches the Pros but we hear there's tailgating and good food so we're in!

We read that the temps are nippy this time of year in Michigan just like they are here so we decided that we're taking a big pot of chili to share!

We also hear that it's kind of cold sitting on those bleachers for three whole hours while the guys on the field slug it out so we're going to bring our stadium blankie to keep us warm.

Mom told us that both of us are to share ONE blanket. Oh no! Not really!

This didn't go over too well because I like to have my own stuff and I really don't like to share!

Mitch thinks I'm being stoopid and selfish!
I gave him the raspberries and told him that I'd think about it!

I really do want to go to the game and I guess if this is the only way..................
Oh alright! I guess I can bring myself to be under the same blankie as you!

So now we'll watch out the window and wait for Sam to pick us up! Boy, he sure has a full day of driving ahead of him!

So until next time................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Poker Night at Scruffy and Lacie's

There's a poker pawty at Scruffy and Lacie's place tonight and I've been asked to bring the beer. I have no idea how to play poker but I do know how to drink beer!

I didn't know what kind everybody likes so I decided that more is always better!

I thought Red Dog would be appropriate. Why bring a 6 pack when you can bring the whole truck!

While I was shopping through the aisles, I found this Snake Dog beer! I've never had it but it looked pretty good so I picked up some of that too!

I'm not sure how many poker players are going to be at Lacie's pawty but heck, we don't want to run out, do we? So I'm bringing along some Wet dog beer too!

Okay, okay, I know at this point I'm going overboard but this one just looked so tempting and I want to see how this one goes down! This is Road Dog beer! Isn't the label fabulous!

The Maggiemobile is packed to the gills and I'm on my way, Lacie! By the way, Mitch will NOT be coming! He pooed in his bedroom again last night - this is the second time he's had an oopsie and mom is not pleased, so he has to stay home! Whooooooohooooooooooo - now the little stinker can't blab to mom how many cans I consumed! hehehehe

See you guys soon!

Love ya lots,

Maggie

A Tale of our Tails

The 4XB's shared their tail tales with us and we thought that it might be fun to share our tails with all of you.

This is my tail~

Mom just groomed me on Monday so my tail is now referred to as the pencil thin tail!
Mom loves grooming my tail! She's thinks it's the best part to shave down!
This is Mitch's stub tail! It was docked too short from the start when he was a wee pup! He does wag his tail but not half as much as I do!

This is my tail at rest~

I always curl it around my hiney when I'm sleeping. I don't know why - I just do!

This is Mitch's tail at rest. He doesn't rest all that much! He's always on the go!

I know this is supposed to be about tails, but would you look at the size of that boy's feet! Will he ever stop growing?!

We want to see more tails so make sure you show us yours, okay?

So until next time....................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Our Letters to Santa Paws

Mitch and I both wanted to write letters to Santa for Tucker, Thrawn, Dot, Samantha and Bear's - the Brat Pack's contest.

Christmas is our favorite time of the year!

You can go first, Mitch, okay?

"What I want for Christmas" by Mitch

1. I would like to have all the rope in the whole wide world so I always have a spare rope toy to chew on! This is my very favorite toy!

2. I would also like to own my very own ice cream shop so that I could have ice cream every single day for the rest of my life!

3. I would love to have a million packages of celery seeds so that I could plant a garden and have celery growing all year round in my back yard. I just LOVE celery! It's so yummy!

4. Santa, Please bring me a small female terrier my own age so that I can play with her non-stop! I love Maggie lots but she gets tired and cranky and she can't keep up with my pace all day long!

5. And lastly, Santa, I was rescued from a pet store and I spent 4 months in a crate and didn't know "real" love until dad brought me home with him to live with mom and Maggie. I want all dogs that don't know real love to have a roof over their heads and a warm bed to sleep in and food in their tummies. I want their tails to wag and I want them to look into their new families eyes and know that they're truly loved.

Those are my wishes for Christmas, Santa.

Love, Mitch

Your turn, Maggie!

"What I want for Christmas" by Maggie

1. I want to own a pizza parlor so I can have pizza every day for the rest of my life!

2. And I would like to jointly own that ice cream shop with Mitch so we can both have ice cream every single day!

3. I would like to have a new Mr. Carrot ( my favorite toy in the whole wide world). Mitch keeps destroying all the toys that I've cherished for so long. One by one mom has to throw them all away! Thanks a lot, Mitch!

4. I would like to be able to go with my mom everywhere that she goes, where ever it may be! I love riding in the car and I like going places! So Santa, could you please tell my mom that I really would like for this to happen?!

5. And lastly Santa, this last wish is not for me. It's for all of my dearest and most wonderful friends at DWB. Mom and I been blogging for almost one year now and we've met the friendliest doggies ever here! We laugh and we cry and we pawty together and we bond and it's so very, very special. I want the best health for all of my buddies! Each and every one of them is a precious gift and I want to be friends with them forever and ever.

Thank you, Santa. Can I please put this wish in the #1 spot! It's really the most important!

Love, Maggie

We just want you to know, Santa that we've been good doggies all year long! Thank you in advance for reading our Christmas letters to you. We hope that you will consider everything on the list.

Love,
Maggie and Mitch

I Have My Own Bedroom

Hi everybody!
Maggie said that I could post today on her blog. Isn't she a sweetheart!

I wanted to let you all know that I now have my own bedroom! Mom thinks that I'm getting to be a big trustworthy boy (I'm almost a year old, ya know) and she now lets me sleep in a whole room at night instead of being locked in my crate!

Don't get me wrong, I love my crate! Mom has the blankies stacked up in there and it's so cushy and soft and warm and my crate happens to be right next to the radiator! Mom just wanted to give me more room at night so that I could stretch my legs if I wanted to!

I have my own rug and another bed to sleep on! I have to go and get more toys! They're aren't nearly enough in here to play with! I'll be back!

The laundry room has been my spot for as long as I've lived here - about 7 1/2 months! I've always felt very comfortable in this room! Maggie sleeps upstairs with mom and dad but I really don't mind being downstairs in my own special spot. Check out this print on MY wall~

I get to look at this print every single day! It's by Enid Groves and it's called "Debonaires" My hooman sister gave it to mom for Christmas one year!

And there's more good Airedale stuff right next to this print!

Mom made the Airedale spoon that's hanging on the wall and she made the leaf dish that hangs right next to it. The intarsia Airedale was made by another artist. One day mom hopes to be able to do this intarsia stuff too with all of dad's wood scraps Our friend, Barbara Keigher painted the Dale and the pansies(one of mom's favorite flowers) and the Wooliedales are made by artist, Carol Usher. So you see, this room was meant for me from the very start!

And check out the best part!

That's my very own mini cookie jar and it's right here in my very own bedroom! I'm one lucky boy!

Mom groomed me today so that I look handsome for all of my birthday photos! I think Maggie is a little bit jealous that she's didn't get to go first! Don't worry, Maggie - you'll get your turn too!

So until next time....................

Yer friend,

Mitch

Suki's Birthday

We're going to DisneyWorld to celebrate Suki's first birthday!

We've never, ever been to Florida!
Mom has and she's never, ever been to Disney so she can't shed much light on this fabulous place! Everybody is so excited so it must be a pretty special place. We've been doing our
homework on the internet checking out spots that we've heard of like Epcot~

And the Magic Kingdom castle~

We'll be flying aboard Aire Ruby again- flying on her private jet is a pawty too! Ruby tells us that we will be staying at Cinderella's castle! Can you imagine! And to make it even better- we have the whole castle to ourselves! This is the castle at dusk! Isn't it so beautiful and so exciting?!

We're hoping that we run into this guy while we're there~

Mitch and I can't wait! We checked out Orlando's temperatures for this time of the year and they're around 75 degrees and that's warmer weather than we've been having here in Connecticut so I sure hope Suki doesn't mind if we show up neked! We want to have a great time and cooler is better in our book!
We're ready to go! Putter will be hanging with us here at my house so we can board together - one less stop for Ruby!

We're hoping to have the BEST time with all of our doggie friends!

See you soon!
Maggie and Mitch

He's On the Case Once Again

Mom was in the computer room reading emails and she started to hear this scratching noise that sounded like it was coming from inside the wall over her left shoulder. She's guessing that it was a mousie! Time to set those traps with peanut butter!

Mom has this annoying habit of always saying, "What's that noise?" It usually brings us both running to her to see what's up!

Detective Mitch heard the noise right away and he was on the case! He'd make a pile of money if someone would hire him for real! He just never gives up!

The noise sounded like it was over the top of this window!

This stack of record albums in right beneath the window! He just can't leave any stone unturned!

Gosh, but he's thorough!

You gotta check out this video! If the poor mousie is anywhere near Mitch's nose, he's gonna be sucked right in! hehehehe

Just to let you know, it was a false alarm! No mousie this time! But Mitch stayed busy for a whole hour looking for him!

So until next time...................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Is the Woman Nuts?

You simply will not believe this! Mom has put our Airedale Christmas tree up!
She had it up before Halloween!!! Mom has never done anything like this before!

Did you all happen to visit Dory's blog and see that her mom has started her DWB Christmas cards?
She has her handmade cards EVERYWHERE in her house! Mom always says, the early bird gets the worm!

Well, my mom has been thinking about the Christmas card exchange too! This is our first year exchanging with all of the dogs and not just with the Airedales. We joined DWB last year at the very end of November and the card exchange was pretty much in full swing and seeing as we didn't know anyone yet, we just didn't get involved! So now my mom is just as nutty as Dory's mom, no offense Dory!
She just needs to get the best photo for our Christmas card!

We practice every single day on this project to the point where Mitch and I are ready to strangle mom! She's just never happy! We always have to take "just one more, please!" Can you see us trying to tell mom to just be happy with that last one! Dad says this picture looks like we're singing Christmas carols! shhhhhhhhhhhhh Please don't tell mom! Or she'll have us doing that next!

Okay, is there anybody else who has their Christmas tree up yet or are we the only fools??!!

So until next time.....................

Love ya lots,

Maggie

Around My Town - Northford

Not long ago, Chance posted pictures of his town and he tagged us all to post pictures of our own towns so that we can see where we all live and the places that we frequent!

Mom had to run errands today so it was the perfect opportunity to grab the camera and get some shots for all of you!

We only live about a mile from the center of Northford so it's always a quick trip for us to visit the post office or the bank!

Our first stop was the gas station. I know some of you get cookies at your gas stations but ours doesn't pass them out! Somebody needs to put this bee in their bonnet!

Our next stop was the bank. It's in this complex with a bakery and a laundromat and an Italian deli and several other small stores.

We're at the drive-in window waiting for that nice lady to put a cookie in that drawer and push it out to me!

My favorite teller hadn't arrived yet so I only got one cookie today instead of two! Bummer!

The next stop was our local drug store! This is where my dad gets all of his heart meds to keep
his transplanted donor heart healthy!

Next was the Northford grocery store to buy a half gallon of milk. It's a real old fashioned store and it's so convenient for that last minute item that mom is always forgetting!

We're all done with the errands and we're heading towards home. We're just passing my vet's office on our right! I'm not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing living this close to my vet!

Here we are in my driveway! That's my mailbox! Can you see our burning bush? That's the stunning red bush in all of it's glorious autumn color! That red barn across the street belongs to Marty, my Cairn Terrier friend!

Home at last! This is my house!
So this is some of my small town of Northford!
Thanks for running errands with me! Hope you enjoyed it! Who wants to be next?
So until next time.................
Love ya lots,
Maggie
