National Ice Cream Day

Norwood informed us about a week ago that July 19th was National Ice Cream day! We have written it on the calendar and you can be sure that we'll be celebrating this very special holiday every year without fail! Thanks, Norwood!

Mom found more Mango Ice Cream at the grocery store this week! It's one of our very favorite flavors! This time mom put it in brandy snifters to make it more of a challenge for us to get the ice cream out and to give her more time to take lots of pictures!
Holy moley, Mitch, we're nosey to nosey! We are really having to work to get this mango ice cream out of here!Hey, Maggie - mine is all gone!
Do you think mom will give us a refill?
Hey, Norwood! We need to create another National ice cream day in a hurry! Should we make it a monthly holiday?!
We received the Kreativ blog award from Doctor Dre and Brodie and Ailsa! What at honor! Thank you so much!
We're supposed to list 7 things about ourselves that you might find interesting.
hummmmmmmm

1. I, Miss Maggie, hate to be hot and at night I would rather sleep on the floor than in my bed!
2. I, Mitch, hate bugs that fly around me and try to kiss my butt! It drives me NUTS!
3. I, Maggie, used to be a fast eater but now that I'm older and wiser, I take my time and enjoy my meals!
4. I, Mitch, can finish my meal in no time flat!
5. I, Maggie, am not into hugs and squeezes. I would rather you sweet-talk me than hug me!
6. I, Mitch, am a love bug! I love hugs and kisses - the more the better!
7. I, Mitch, have a deep wolf bark and my barks sometimes hurt my ears and I have to shake my head after I bark to get my hearing going again!

A lot of you have already played this game so we won't tag anyone but if you want to play, then consider yourself tagged!

So until next time..................

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

The 600 Post Winners

As promised, we are flipping over our pieces of paper and revealing who has won the 600 post goodies!

I chose the number 11 and the pretty doggie sitting in the #11 spot is Miss Kylie!

Congratulations, Kylie! Mom and I knew this morning who the lucky winners were so we headed out to the pet store! I bought you something that's very special to me and I hope you like it as much as I do! That will be your only clue! mmmm's the word!

Mitch has chosen the number 9 and the lucky pups occupying the #9 spot are none other than Lilly, Piper, Carrleigh and Java!

Congratulations to all of you! Mitch did not go shopping with mom and me but he did tell me exactly what he wanted us to buy for you and I happen to think it's just perfect coming from him!
That's your clue!
We're not big on clues, are we? oops - sorry! We hate ruining surprises - unless of course, we're pushed and then it doesn't take much for us to spill the beans!

So we will be heading to the post office soon to mail your boxes out! Could you please send us your snail mail addy, Kylie? Our email address is on our side bar.
Thank you all for posting on our 600 post! We wish we could send out gifts for all of you! You are all very dear to us and blogging could never be the same without each and every one of you!
We adore all of our friends!

Tomorrow is National Ice Cream day! You're all participating, right?

So until next time...............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

Our 600 Post on EyeWatch Friday

Guess what? We've reached post #600! whooooohooo
We can't believe we've been that chatty and have had that much to eat!
We do have a LOT of posts about food, don't we?! hehehe

Okay, so Mitch and I have decided that we need to celebrate getting to #600 and we're going to have a give-away!
We both chose a number and it's written on the other side of these two pieces of paper! Mitch chose a number and I chose a number!
We decided that the easiest way to do this was to go to the comment section tomorrow on this particular post and the two doggies whose names match up to the two numbers that Mitch and I have written on our pieces of paper are the winners!
We will reveal the numbers that we chose and the names of the winners tomorrow! And then mom and I get to go shopping and have fun buying fun stuff!
Good luck!

We have finally remembered to participate in Norwood's eyewatch Friday!
Did you all know that today is Norwood's birthday? If you've never met Norwood then you MUST! He is one quick-witted doggie that has the most fun adventures every single day and he's always coming up with the neatest ideas! We just love his blog!
So please stop by his bloggie and wish him a happy birthday, okay?!
Here's looking at ya!

So until tomorrow when winners will be announced......................

Love ya lots,

So I'm off to NY today! I'll be taking the train into the city and enjoying a fabulous and fun day with Bertie and Romy and their wheelie mom and dad!
And I'll be bringing with me a lovely bouquet of roses for Myrna that are from my garden!
And also a pair of rocking horses for the twins! Yes, I know, they're still a bit too young but you know how fast babies grow!
Can you see the Airedale pin on my bandana? Lenny sent it to Maggie on her 11th birthday and Maggie let me borrow it! Thank you, Maggie!

My sissy, Melissa and her husband, Jim came for dindin tonight to celebrate mom's and my birthday so the celebration continues!
OMG, PIZZA!!!
Mitch and I were trying our very best to get as many pizza crusts as possible! We kept making the rounds to see who was taking pity on us!
How can you resist these faces! We are trying so hard! We're starving! Can't you see that?!
I love putting my paw in dad's lap!
It works every time!
Check out dessert!
It's from the Italian bakery! Mom got to choose first and she chose the cannoli!
Which one would you have chosen? Mom said it was such a tough choice!
You're going to share with me, right?
The card Missy and Jim gave mom was just too cute!
We hope it biggifies so you can read it!
Being eleven is not so bad after all! I really think I like it!

I'm Eleven!

I'm eleven years old today and Mitch and I have started the pawty early - like right after morning walkies! yahooooooooooooo

Mitch and I both watched as mom whipped up my special birthday cake! It's a sponge base and then she sprinkled in a few blueberries followed by Spumoni ice cream - pink for me and green for Mitch and then whipped cream and then a blueberry for the top!
Time to dig in! I'm wearing my pretty purple redhatter bandana that my wheelie sissy, Autumn and mom made me last year for my 10th birthday! Mitch agreed to wear a purple hat so we could match! Thank you, Mitch
OOPS! Well, we both lost our pawty hats because we had to really work hard to get that sponge cake out of mom's goblet! That was really yummy! Thanks, mom!
Awwwwwwww, thank you, Mitch!
Now you promised that this is my new pretty pink piggie and you won't ever touch her! You're going to keep that promise, right?!My goodest and bestest friend, Putter, also sent me a birthday pressie! A red and black tug puzzle that Mitch already thinks is his (why does that not surprise me) and 2 HUGE packages of yummy pegetables! OMG, thank you so much, Putter! Mom says that we have to wait to open the pegetables or we're gonna burst if we eat anything else right now! And I love my card! You're so sweet!
I also got the most beautiful birthday card from Asta! With all of the issues she's been having she didn't forget me! Thank you so much Asta and mommi! I love my beautiful card!
And you have to visit Blue! She featured me on her bloggie today with the most beautiful collage!
I also received online cards from Blue and Jeannie and Marvin, and Noah, Willow, Tess and Lucy!
And because my mom is so computer challenged, she has no idea how to show them to you but believe me, they were very special and very pretty and very much appreciated! Thank you so much!
What a birthday I'm having! whooooooohooooo

And now mom wants to say a word or two:

As many of you know, Maggie and I share the same birthday! I remember so well the day I put a deposit on my little girl with her breeder and I asked Phil her birthday and he told me that it was July 10th! I thought he was pulling my leg but how could he know! He had just made my day! Sharing a birthday with Maggie is one of the greatest gifts I could ever receive!
We'll be together forever, my sweetest most precious friend!
Happy Birthday to you! I hope we have many, many more birthdays together! I love you!

Happy birthday to you too, mom! We'll have ice cream together soon! Dad said!
I"m off to play with my new pink piggie!

So until next time.................

Love ya lots,

Maggie, the birthday girl, and Mitch

True Colors Thursday - Navy

It's true colors Thursday once again!
If you'd like to play, drop by Blue's blog and let her know! It's a LOT of fun!

Today's color is navy!

Mom's Salmon Falls pottery sugar bowl has navy on it!
These blueberries look navy to us!Dad's RedSox cap is navy! This is a Carol Usher original Woolie sculpture! It's called "Day's End"! The sweet elderly lady is actually Carol's hubby's mom, who has since passed on and the Airedale resting on the sofa with her is Jesse, Carol's dog in real life! The one at her feet is a mini-Dale that mom won on ebay!
Mom sprays our doggie grooming clipper blades with Kool Lube after she cleans them and then she packs them away for the next time!
This is a felted purse that mom made for Cousin Norma! And that would be Norma's parakeet pet that mom needlefelted on the navy purse!
This is another one of mom's felted purses! She used to crank them out left and right but now she's knitting socks and it's taking her FOREVER!
Next week's color is peach!

So until next time..............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

Wheelie Wednesday - Out To The Vegetable Garden

Hi everybody! It's me, Autumn!
We're on our way out to dad's vege garden! Dad started all of his flowers from seed and all of his tomato plants from seed!
The flowers that are just staring to bloom are giant zinnias. He also has marigolds planted and those bigger plants in the center are sunflowers! We've had a LOT of rain lately and very little sun so our garden is a little behind where it should be for this time of year!
This tomato is called Fourth of July and in years past, we'd be picking it and eating it but not this year! It's a smaller-type tomato but it has a tremendous yield! Once these tomatoes start to ripen, we'll keep picking them until September! Mom loves to toss these tomatoes across the brook to Maggie and Mitch who are waiting for are patiently waiting their treat! They both love tomatoes!
All of the rain hasn't hurt the zucchini squash! It looks like we'll be picking it very soon! yummm
Do you see that little guy in there? That's a baby acorn squash! This is the first time that we've ever grown acorn squash! We sure hope it does well for us!
Look how big these leaves are! I could get lost in the garden and mom would never know what happened to me!
We're heading back across the brook now!
Hello grampa Grey Lag! Nice day we're having, isn't it?!
This is Mitch's apple tree! We don't prune it and we don't spray it! The apples are pretty much for the ducks, geese and Dauby, our swan and of course for MitchyBoy! They're not as pretty as what you see in the grocery store because we don't spray but nobody complains about it - they just scarf them up!
See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn
