Hi everybody! It's me, Autumn!
We're on our way out to dad's vege garden! Dad started all of his flowers from seed and all of his tomato plants from seed!
The flowers that are just staring to bloom are giant zinnias. He also has marigolds planted and those bigger plants in the center are sunflowers! We've had a LOT of rain lately and very little sun so our garden is a little behind where it should be for this time of year!
This tomato is called Fourth of July and in years past, we'd be picking it and eating it but not this year! It's a smaller-type tomato but it has a tremendous yield! Once these tomatoes start to ripen, we'll keep picking them until September! Mom loves to toss these tomatoes across the brook to Maggie and Mitch who are waiting for are patiently waiting their treat! They both love tomatoes!
All of the rain hasn't hurt the zucchini squash! It looks like we'll be picking it very soon! yummm
Do you see that little guy in there? That's a baby acorn squash! This is the first time that we've ever grown acorn squash! We sure hope it does well for us!
Look how big these leaves are! I could get lost in the garden and mom would never know what happened to me!
We're heading back across the brook now!
Hello grampa Grey Lag! Nice day we're having, isn't it?!
This is Mitch's apple tree! We don't prune it and we don't spray it! The apples are pretty much for the ducks, geese and Dauby, our swan and of course for MitchyBoy! They're not as pretty as what you see in the grocery store because we don't spray but nobody complains about it - they just scarf them up!
See you all next Wednesday!
Love, Autumn
I like your hat Autumn. And the leaves in the garden sure looks HUGE~

What a great garden! We only have tomatoes. Five plants are growing upside down and 2 are in pots on the deck. They are behind too because of our weather being waaay too hot! We hope your Acorn Squash does very well!

What a great garden. Mom was digging potatoes in ours yesterday - we don't know why she doesn't let us help.

Good evening m & m
ReplyDeleteFriendship is put from Japan of the Star Festival.
The classroom of the flower arrangement was started today finally.
It was a hard day.
As for the enjoyment of the vegetable kitchen garden, the tomato and the zucchini are delicious.
The amount of the seedling of the tomato is large.
When eating, it is a lot of harvests.
It limits it to sharing to the vicinity.
It is olive oil of the zucchini and a stir-fry.
Incidently, it has the memory of eating the zucchini flower.
Of course, it sleeps with the pasta of the tomato, and slaver seems to occur. :D

We would LOVE to have a vegetable garden! We keep trying to think of ways to grow one that would survive our time away from home each summer AND survive the pesky deer. We're thinkin we'll just have to satisfy ourselves with wheelies like you that have beautiful veggie gardens of your own! So very nice1
