Six Things that Make Us Happy

Addie and Zoe posted about six things that make them happy and we thought that this would be fun! Me first and then Mitchy!
Three things that make me deliriously happy are:

1. Walkies!

2. Pizza
3. Onies (macaroni)
And pretty much in that order!

Your turn, Mitch!

Three things that make me VERY happy are:

1. Walkies

2. Fruit, especially apples

3. Going for rides in the car or the truck. I don't care where we're going as long as I get to go too!

Yesterday mom made Date Nut Bars - some were for us and some were to share!

Here's the recipe if anyone would like to make them:

1/2 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 2 eggs, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 package of chopped dates, 1 cup chopped walnuts, 1/4 cup melted butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla.

Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Beat eggs till light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar, beating while adding. Add the dates and the nuts. Add dry ingredients, melted butter and vanilla. Spread into a greased 9" shallow pan. Bake at 325 degrees for about 40 minutes. Cut into squares and dust with confectioners sugar when cool. Enjoy!

I helped mom mix all of the ingredients together!

And Mitch and I both got to lick the spoon before the batter got spread in the pan!
This is some good stuff, Maggie!

Baking for Christmas is sure a lot of fun! We can't wait till mom starts making cookies!

So until next time...............

Love ya lots,

Maggie and Mitch

  1. w00f's M and M, mayb me needs to put mama a cookin...dat date bread sounds yummie, me bets it smells even yummier...

    b safe,

  2. I bet your house smelled just like ours did...since our moms were both making date bars at the same time! Our recipe is slightly different, but I'm sure they are both good! Ours has a layer of dates in the middle. We didn't get to lick the spoon 'cause Mom wasn't sure whether we should be eating dates. She says she will let time. Dad gave each of us a tiny bite and it was yummy!
