Three things that make me VERY happy are:
1. Walkies
2. Fruit, especially apples
3. Going for rides in the car or the truck. I don't care where we're going as long as I get to go too!
Here's the recipe if anyone would like to make them:
1/2 cup flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 2 eggs, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 package of chopped dates, 1 cup chopped walnuts, 1/4 cup melted butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Sift flour, salt and baking powder. Beat eggs till light and fluffy. Gradually add sugar, beating while adding. Add the dates and the nuts. Add dry ingredients, melted butter and vanilla. Spread into a greased 9" shallow pan. Bake at 325 degrees for about 40 minutes. Cut into squares and dust with confectioners sugar when cool. Enjoy!
I helped mom mix all of the ingredients together!
This is some good stuff, Maggie!

ReplyDeleteb safe,

I bet your house smelled just like ours did...since our moms were both making date bars at the same time! Our recipe is slightly different, but I'm sure they are both good! Ours has a layer of dates in the middle. We didn't get to lick the spoon 'cause Mom wasn't sure whether we should be eating dates. She says she will let us...next time. Dad gave each of us a tiny bite and it was yummy!
