Wheelie Wednesday - A Perfect April Morning

Hi everyone! It's me, Autumn!
So much is happening outside these days and I wanted to take you all outside on my morning walkie around the yard!
This is the decoration at our back door! Mom put a piece of black electrical tape over the hole in the Amish hat birdhouse so the birdies won't make a nest there! It's messy when they do and it's just not a practical thing! We use this entrance all the time and they'd have no privacy! This is mom's Easter gardenia plant from Missy and Jim! It's in bloom and it smells AWESOME!!!!We're in dad's greenhouse! These are all tomato plants that he has started from seed! There are yellow brandywines and big boys and Father Lou and dime tomatoes, which are just little and supposedly the size of a dime! And there are Aussies and Old Germans and Fourth of Julys and even a tomato called pineapple! Some varieties are new to us! I'll keep you updated when they start to produce fruit! It's 8AM here and this is the temperature in the greenhouse! The thermometer says 80 degrees! By this afternoon, the greenhouse will be well over 100 degrees!
Just outside the greenhouse is the pond and there's Dauby, our Mute swan, saying hi to me!
This is the daddy Greylag goose! We think his wife is sitting on a nest because she's been missing in action now for a couple of days! I'll keep you updated on that too!
This is the magnolia tree in front of the addition on dad's barn! Isn't it just beautiful in bloom? No, you're not seeing things. The wing of our workshop barn really was built c.1680! We own one of the oldest structures in our country! Another time I'll have to take you inside to see the timbers! That's the old part! What a beautiful day we have here today!

See you all next Wednesday!

Love, Autumn

That was a great tour Autumn.

Great tomatoe plants - looking forward to seeing how they turn out - the little man has planted a few but the slugs attacked them the other night!

Wish we had a pond as big as that!

We loved the tour! Your garden. Your swan. Your goose (we have geese - and they get all hunkered down like that when we get close this time of year). And your ourbuilding. How pawsome! Is it on the historical registry? It should be! Think of all the stories that must go with it! (You could even make some up.... )

You just reminded us we'd better go check on the new nest in our entryway. Last year it was robins. This year it's something much smaller...

Love the hat, Maggie...

Oh my, that is the second magnolia tree we've seen on a blog today. Do you know we have the very same tree in our yard and we've also got an evergreen magnolia that has these huge white flowers.
Thanks for the tour of your garden. We didn't know there were Aussie tomatoes hehe.
That boy goose looks a little cranky Autumn. Best stay away from him.....eeep.

Hey Autumn,
Wow, your tree is gorgeous! Mama just loves those. She'll be sure to get photos of our yellow magnolia when most of the buds are open. The weather is staying cooler here, so the buds should last longer.

Our dining room table was made from wood from an old barn in Iowa. Don't know how old it was though.

We can't believe how many tomater plants your Papa is growing. What do you do with all of the tomaters? Do you make salsa?? Mmmmmm, yummy. See you at the wedding.

Thank you so much for sharring more of your world. You have such a beautiful "spread of land". Just thinking of the old barn and what it would say if it could talk. I bet it would say how happy it is that your family loves it and takes care of it. The beauty you have at your home is breathtaking- the greenhouse and flowers and the green grass! Even the flower pots! We grow tomatoes too, but not from seed. My moms and I would love to walk upon your land with you.
thank you again for sharring.

Hey Maggie and Mitch,

Now we know that is called the Greylag goose. Here in Holland we have lots of them but my humans simply just call them Wally (duh?).

Heya Autumn,
That was a spectacular tour. Doesn't your swan run a boat concession over at the Boston Public Gardens? Geese make good watchdogs... uhh.. watchgeese. We are gonna count the tomato plants as the food in this post. - TBH
