Early this morning, we learned of Jackson's passing. Jackson was one of our very first friends when we started to blog. He has had many health issues over the years but he was such a feisty little fighter! We are so happy that he has had his loving J's to take such excellent care of him! We will miss you and we will never forget you, Jackson!
After our morning walkie, we headed over to the Crump barn site. Our barn raising is mid-July so we don't have time to be slackers! This past Saturday and Sunday, Uncle Bill and Uncle Jeff and dad built a ramp so it will be much easier and a whole lot safer for people to get up on the deck to build this barn. This is much easier than jumping 4 foot in the Aire, mom! Come on up!It was barely 40 degrees this morning and VERY windy here!
Hang on tight to my leash so I don't blow away! What a view from up here! What the heck are you doing all the way down there, Mitch?
When we came home for lunch, mom checked the computer and we learned of Digby's passing. We haven't known Digby for long but we do know that he loved his family and he loved his brother, Wilf and he fought like heck to stay here on earth with them. He was such a handsome boy and way too young to be taken from those who love him most.
We were back at the barn site this afternoon and we can tell you that many tears have been shed today for both of these brave handsome boys and their loving families! Our hearts ache for you!Godspeed Jackson and Digby! You will never be forgotten! We love you both!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch

What a sad day. Jackson, Digby, Puffy and a Sibe named Sobaka. Run free brave, special pups. We are thinking of their families so much - rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs and Love xooxo,

So sad indeed! We've never met either of those pups, but feel saddened nonetheless! Maybe all that strong wind today was from them playing & tearing around joyfully on the other side of the rainbow bridge :)

What a sad Monday indeed. We didn't know Jackson or Digby but when any one of us pups crosses the Rainbow Bridge it breaks our hearts. We will be sending lots of loving vibes to their families.

it's so sad for those left behind and we'ld like to think that it's a better place for our furiends who are running painfree and happy.
ReplyDeletechikisses
I'm sitting here this morning running through all our favourite blogs. We're just amazed by the warmth and tenderness shown to a little dog in the south of France. There again I guess Digby was areflection of whats best in all dogs - warm, humorous, mischevious, devoted and brave. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt's so heartbreaking, isn't it... we feel for their families :(
ReplyDeleteWe hope they are all pain free and running freely over at the Rainbow Bridge..
We can't seem to get our eyes to quit leaking! We are sure there was a huge pawty at the Rainbow Bridge yesterday for their arrival, but we also know how much pain their families feel. We're crossing our paws for their peeps and Wilf!
ReplyDeleteWe can't wait to see more pictures of the barn as it's being built!
Aire-hugs,
Penny & Patches

A verry sad Monday! I`m sorry for the lost of your friends
Your friends go over the Rainbow Bridge
....When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable...
sad greetings
Mischka

Hi Maggie and Mitch
ReplyDeleteMonday was a sad day right enough and we are so very sorry for the loss of Jackson and Digby.
Still we know some great dogs that are already at Rainbow Bridge and we trust them to look after our friends until we meet again.
Your barn continues to look impressive, great view.

We never knew Jackson but we know his family is broken hearted and we are so very sorry.
ReplyDeleteWe recently met Digby and are so sorry on that front too. Lots of tears in our worldwide Pack!
Just swinging round to say hello to our friends in CT and wish you well. The weather has softened considerably and I plan to enjoy the summer by being outside more and less time at the laptop. Will visit and blog from time to time during the summer.
Sending love and happiness to you all for a great summer and a successful barn raising! xoxoxo
I'm so sorry to hear about Jackson and Digby.
ReplyDelete((((Big Hug)))))
It has definitely been a sad sad day. Jackson was one of our first blogger buddies. He will never be forgotten.
ReplyDeleteGodspeed Jackson and Digby!
Tobester
We are back to blogging and came back to such sad news. BUt that is when we all need each other most.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad Maggie, Jackson was one of the original bloggers.... he had been so brave for so long. In a way, its good that he is no longer in pain, but I feel so so bad for his family. I have never met Digby before, but will drop by to say our condolences.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Mitch had that "omg, how do I get to my Maggie" look on his face when you were way way way up high. STINKY gets that look too whenever he's worried about not being able to get to me.
Love nibbles,
Miss Sunshade
Oh our dogness! We have been so wrapped up in "getting ready for our VIPs' arrival" that we didn't even know until we just read your blog post that Bonnie's Puffers had passed in addition to Jackson and Digby. The big lump came right back up in Moma's throat and her eyes got all weepy again. It is so sad and so hard to lose a furry friend, especially knowing how sad it makes the families left behind.
ReplyDeleteWe'll try to be in better touch ... but from now until the middle of June we have lots of adventures to look forward to. What's a dog to do?
We're heading over to Bonnie's blog right now.
Sadly written, but so thankful for our friends
Jake and Fergi xxoo
how sad... we will light a candle for the two of them to find their way to the rainbow bridge..
