Blue's Colored Thursday - Black

If you want to play along, click on this link!  It's fun - you won't be sorry you joined in!
Today's color is black!

Mitch's nose and lips are black!
Our portable phone is black!
Dad's scherenschnitte picture that our wonderful friends Phil and Amy had made especially for dad is black!  What a beautiful meaningful gift it is!
You all know that we have a Mute swan named Dauby.    We used to have a pair of black swans named Buttons and Betty that lived on our pond until someone stole them!  grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
These are the black pods on our blue false indigo perennial plant.

This is the black discus that went with  dad to the Transplant Olympic games in Wisconsin!
And my least is black!

This is dad's antique pencil sharpener.  Mom says it's kinda fun to use!

Next week's color is lavender!

So until next time.................

Love ya lots
Maggie and Mitch

  3. Great job! We, especially like the picture that your friends had made for your dad!

We hope that whom ever stole your black swans, gave them a good home and then rots in hell! (Mom's feeling kind of mean, this morning!)

  5. That was a fun post because you have some unusual black items around. Black is a super cool color because we love black poodles!

That's terrible that someone stole Buttons and Betty. I can't imagine who would do that. They must have some pond of their own somewhere. Hopefully they are doing well.

  10. Great selection of blacks! How lovely to have your own black swan - though there really should be three. How can people do that?
The antique pencil sharpener reminds me of the ones I used to use at school. Not quite so old but enough to cause blisters when sharpening pencils for 30 children. Then I ordered an electric one ;-)

  27. I wonder who Maggie rang on the phone. I was a bit surprised that someone could steal swans. Couldn't the swans fly away from the thieves?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks for the info about why the swans couldn't fly. Did you already know that in the centuries before the discovery of Australia (and its black swans), the expression "a black swan" meant something impossible?

  29. One of Grandpa Angus's nicknames was "black lips." You know, most doggies have black lips, but there is something about those dale lips that really stands out. Not to mention the big old snooters you have.
