And look what I got for being the bestest helper~
A shrimp!
Dad was away for the day so we made him a special dindin. It sure does smell yummy!
When My Maggie was diagnosed with kidney disease, she couldn't have marrow bones anymore, which meant that neither could I because mom never wanted to make her feel bad.
I'm sure enjoying this marrow bone! It's been 2 years since I had one!
Dindin is served!
Dad surprised us with dessert from Lexington, Massachusetts!
Not sure exactly what it was but it was sure yummy!
A top secret pressie arrived in our mail box a few days ago. It's from our goodest and bestest friend, Putter. It's photos and a video and it's so many wonderful memories of My Maggie and Putter together and guess what - I'm in there too - when I was just a little boy! It's a wonderful gift and it had mom laughing and crying at the same time. Thank you so very much, Putter. You are the BEST!
Some of pictures are the same ones that are on this beautiful collage that Putter and her mom, Kate, gave us a couple of years ago. Some of these pictures are of the first time we ever met and of Putter's trips to our house and even hikes at Sleeping Giant.
So many wonderful memories and we love them all - every single one of them is so very, very special. Thank you so much, Putter!
And another pressie arrived! This beautiful table runner was made by Karen, the mom of Dave and Zim! Dave picked out the fabrics knowing that they would match our re-do dining room to perfection and guess what? They do! Isn't our table lovely with the new runner! Thank you so very much, guys! We are so honored to have a handmade masterpiece by your mom!
We sure do have the best and most generous and loving friends!
Love ya lots,
Mitch

Hi Mitch, wow dinner for you and your mom and dad looked great. We haven't had marrow for a long time. My dad thinks that it may have upset some of our tummies and so it got cut out. We get bison bones, usually knuckles. The shrimp bisque sure looked good. Your mom has a lot of very nice friends that care about her and your angel sister.
ReplyDeleteBoy oh boy...I have some poochies who would flip for that bone! You look totally into it and I bet you liked it better than the shrimp.
ReplyDeleteThe dessert looks so creamy and rich...yummy...and the Shrimp Bisque..with my favorite soup crackers on top!
Your dear friend Putter gave you all such a very special gift. Hope you watch it many times and smile inside with how much Maggie loved you.
What nice pressies you got, pressies are the best. I never had shrimp or a marrow bone, I am gonna have a talk with my Mom. Thanks for sharing.

I like shrimp ~ sometimes when my peep goes to Red Lobster she brings out a container with bites for me. Yum Yum But, I want to taste your desert.
ReplyDeleteSweet William The Scot
I bet that shrimp smelled better than tripe!
ReplyDeleteQuestion: do you boil the marrow bone & if so for how long? Also, when is it a good time to remove the bone from the dog? Mine would chew on it & would be reluctant to give it up.
Yesterday on our way to our hike we were at a red light & in the vehicle next to ours were 2 Airedales! Thought of Mitch & Angel Maggie xo
That is some yummy looking food!! CAll me next time and I will be right over!! :-)

you are so lucky to have a marrow bone....Mom has been trying to find them everywhere around here. She can get them at the pet store but at $8 each for ones half the size of yours - she says it's it' a very treat treat indeed.
ReplyDeleteWoof Mitch I know the feeling but I am not allowed to have bones anymore! I am turning TEN next month so Keeper said I have to be careful. I wonder what that means?
