Progress

Mom has been working with me with the treat machine and  I'm making progress!  She told me that I need to stop being so lazy - the treats don't dispense by themselves.
My foot misses the bone lever a lot but I'm trying really hard!

Score!
Now for the action~

I'll keep working at it!   The cheerios are sure a nice reward!

My treat machine is called the Yuppy Puppy treat machine for all of you who would like to know.

Love ya lots,
Mitch

  1. you will get there Mitch...it's a little handle for your big paw to aim at. Mom REALLY wanted to get me one of these...but she worried that as soon as I figured it out - I would stand there pressing it until I had ALL the treats out....what a spoil sport she is.

  17. Mitch got the hang of it pretty quick!! That was fun to watch.

  24. Hey Mitch, we got one of those machines for Christmas and we still can't work the bloody thing out! (Mind you, we have been away for 2 months and the thing never arrived before the end of Jan so all hope is not lost yet)
We tried everything, staring at it, staring at the pinkies, walking around it and tapping on the floor in front of it or just next to it. Molly also tried barking at it. So far - no go! We will keep trying... Let us know if you make any progress!

  30. Well done Mitch but would it be quicker just to turn it upside down and give it a good Airedale shake? Just wondering. It certainly would dispense treats by the dozen then. :-)

  34. You're doing great, Mitch! Keep pressing the bone down and you get your treats, you're so clever!

I'm wondering what Eva would do if she had one, I guess she would just stare at the treats and give me her doleful eyes and says,'Mom, can I have some treats, please?"

Keep the good work, I bet you can get all the Cheerios in no time!

  38. Mama is impressed you keep playing by the rules and try to work the lever. If we had one of those, we'd just rip it to pieces. Mama actually got us one of those board games where the hu-apes hide treats and you're supposed to flip levers and slide doors and stuff. We found it far easier to just attack it with our teeth and claws, even with mama sitting there trying to supervise. So we probably won't be getting one of those anytime soon. But we're glad you're enjoying yours.

  46. Good work Mitch! BabyRocketDog wouldn't even try to work our Yuppy Puppy treat machine for the first TWO years we had it. Hootie figured it out within the first day and had been the purveyor of treats all that time. Finally, this past summer I said enough is enough and kenneled Hootie up and as Baby whined and stared at the machine I looped a Merricks bone on the handle. She pushed it with her nose and from then on, she has worked the machine herself!! She was really a sissy about trying to make it work for 2 years...letting the Hootster do all her work for her. he he.

  53. Hi Mitch - I'm FINALLY catching up! :-) Oh - what a cool, cool toy!!!!! :-) I WANT ONE!! :-) I just loved that video of you working on it - that look of concentration on your face! :-)

My human is going to check out the link - thanks for sharing it! Although I wonder if they have it in Australia - we find that the shipping is so expensive from America & UK that it's often not worth it... :-( But we''ll check it out! I think I'd love it coz I love using my paws - am a very "pawy" doggie! :-)
