It was very difficult in the beginning but we can finally smile and laugh remembering so many of Maggie's antics - not that we don't have tears too because we still do. Maggie was such a character!
She made a granny square lap quilt and Maggie got to sleep beneath it.
Mom has been doing a lot of wool penny candle mats and she made this one in memory of her sweet and precious girl. Because our mom grooms us, she still has some of Maggie's fur and her fur has been needle felted into "Maggie" on this candle mat.
There was no way that we couldn't add Mr Carrot seeing as he was one of Maggie's favorite toys.
We're getting to snooze beneath the special granny square quilt too!
We will always miss you and we will always love you, Maggie - forever and ever until the end of time.
Love,
Mitch and Molly
Has it been a year already? It seems like yesterday I was reading Maggie's adventures. She lives on in my memory also.
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt and such as lovely way to remember Maggie. Have a marvelous Monday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
We love how the mat has Molly's fur too. It's pawsome.
ReplyDeleteWe miss Maggie and can't believe it's been a year, but we're happy you have Molly now!!

Time may fly by - but the memories last forever and you have so many awesome mementos to remind you of her too.
ReplyDeleteReally....a year? Doesn't seem like a whole year has gone by....we certain miss Maggie....
ReplyDeleteI also can't believe it's been a whole year...
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to be able to make such a beautiful tangible tribute to your sweet girl
(Putting ones emotions into a project like that can only produce a masterpiece. Beautiful!)
The candle mat is stunning...and so is the original.
Sending sweet thoughts to you on this day...we're thinking of you.

A very sweet remembrance! Although like everyone else, we can't believe it has been an entire year. I guess time flies when you're keep up with the antics of Mollie! You two are doing a very nice job of carrying on the sleeping-under-the-quilt tradition!

That would be Molly, not Mollie, BTW. Our assistant is a bit slow this morning...

Anniversaries, can be tough with lots of memories (sometimes difficult ones) and emotions felt on one day, so our mum thinks that it is really nice how, over the last year (and hopefully into the future too) you have told Mitch, Molly and your cyber-friends lots of stories about your special girl and how she made you smile. Mum also loves how you have crafted things in her honour.
ReplyDeleteWe are thinking of all your family today, and remebering Maggie too.
Maggie was a wonderful girl. She's remembered fondly.

Funny, I didn't realize it had been a year when last night I was outside with the puppies and I looked up at my favorite star, the blue one I call the Maggie Star. It was very bright and I said hello to Maggie and Tsar and Samba and Sky. I look for that star every night and most of the time it's there shining back at me.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful quilt. We will remember Maggie forever.

Oh, Maggie had a beard just like ME!! Oh, I wish I could have met Maggie, I thinks we would have been the bestest of furends. I'm so glads that you have kept so many of her things that you can continue to make special momentos of your special gurl.
ReplyDeleteKisses to the sky...

We are so sorry for your loss and know just how you feel as we are about to write a similar post soon. It's so hard and always good to acknowledge loved ones that have left us. We feel your pain and are glad you still have those two sweeties there with you.

Mom says she knows how you're feeling. There was a Westie pupper in our house before me and mom says she has just gotten to the part where she can be happy and sad at the same time. May the great memories warm your heart
ReplyDeleteWoof! Woof! Time flies ... very cute with Mr. Carrot. Forever precious memories of Maggie. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteGone but never forgotten... Lickies to you and your mum!

I cannot believe that it's been a year either. Whew... what a tough time for all of you. I know how you feel - it's been 7 months since K died, and I cannot imagine how all that time has passed.
ReplyDeleteI love the crocheted blanket that Maggie loved and now you two snuggle under it.
