Missing our Special Guests

Mom took Miss Elaine and Sunshade to the AirePort yesterday morning bright and early and when she got back home,  she felt so glum.   We so enjoyed meeting them in person and spending lots of quality time with them.
We never told you that they came bearing so many treats - yummy ones~~

 And beautiful ones!
Many of you will probably think this is strange but it's Sunshade's fur and mom asked Miss Elaine for it because she wants to needle felt a candle mat for Miss Elaine using Sunshade's fur.  We'll have to share the results with you when she's all done.
Miss Elaine even brought mom a magazine with an article and pictures.  It proves that Sunshade is truly a celebrity!
They brought us pineapple cakes.  The best way we can describe them is that it's like a Fig Newton but it's pineapple instead of fig. They are very yummy!
We had so much fun posing with Miss Sunshade and getting lots of treat rewards.  Notice how we  are keeping our distance from her.  She demands her space!  What a diva!
We loved hanging out in the workshop while the girls carved and created.
We sure do miss our very special guests.
Please come back soon and stay as long as you'd like to!  We love you Miss Elaine and Sunshade!

  2. With Sam being so ill I've collected some of his fur and am attempting to needle felt a little Sam. I'm interested to see how your mat comes out.

Hopefully Sunshade and her peeps can visit again.

  24. It's always a let-down when visitors go. I hope your spirits have already picked up.

About the needle felting...have you needle felted with dog hair before? We have a big bag of Penny's fur collected over her whole life, intending to spin it or in some way use it, and someone told us to throw it away because we wouldn't be able to get the dog smell out of it.

I just now put it back on the shelf - just before I sat down to read this post! - because I'm not going to give up the idea. My sister is a textile artist and does needle felting, so I'm sure hoping you will blog about how you use Sunshade's fur!
