Discharged

Our dad was discharged from the visiting nurses and on Tuesday, his PICC line was removed.
No more IV antibiotics and pumps that make beeping noises and no more flushing his blood lines with saline and heparin.  He's almost a free man!

We have lots of saline and heparin flushes that are sealed and never used.  Mom is going to see if our vet or a rescue group could possibly use them. One of the visiting nurses told us that's what she does with these.

We are so happy that our dad is healing! He's coming along brilliantly!
Mom was in a baking mood and made another loaf of her cheese bread!

Life is good~~

Love ya lots♥

  2. That is wonderful news...we had the same problem with all the left over medical supplies but never thought of seeing if the vet could use it. We found a missionary group that was delighted to have it.

  14. Yay! Good news on the Dad front! Our local rescue couldn't use the left over stuff from TaiChi (saline, needles, etc.) but our vet does discount procedures for rescue dogs, and for the local shelter, so we gave the vet the stuff. Continue to take good care of your Dad!

  33. That is the very very best news that I've heard in a long time. I'm so happy for your dad and for you.

We always keep an IV bag of saline around in case our dogs get dehydrated from illness. Our vet taught us how to give them subcutaneous fluids from an IV bag. For that reason, I was thinking that you might want to keep one around. But, then again, perhaps you live closer to a vet hospital than we do!
