Rose Geranium Essential Oil

Ever since I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease, mom has been on a mission to find something natural that can be combined with my Frontline to keep those ticks away from me and from Mackie.

She found articles online here and here that got her really excited.
So off to Amazon she goes to get us some Rose Geranium Essential Oil.

We are so sick and tired of hearing her say, "Both of you smell sooooo beautiful!"      We are not supposed to smell like roses, mom!
Fingers and paws are crossed here that no more ticks are found crawling on the floor or on us.  Ticks are yucky!
We are off to Lenny and Joe's for fish-n-chips!

Love ya lots♥

  2. Essential oils are big in my human family, but on a pup? Never heard of that! Unless my momma has an oil that smells like freshly rolled in squirrel poop, I'll be saying no to oils!

  3. We have never heard of using that essential oil for tick prevention! How interesting! And good to know you can safely use it with Frontline -- we sometimes think the fleas and ticks develop immunity to that!
Mmm... fish and chips! We hope you enjoyed!

  12. It might be worth it to smell like a rose, if it keeps the ticks away...but we think smelling like Fish and Chips would be better...just sayin'.

  15. Crikey Molly ..... I didn't know you had Lyme's disease. I'm so far behind with all the news because of Mum's eyes. I try to keep up but I somehow missed this news. I do hope you are ok. Can they treat Lyme's diease? Our ticks are paralysis ticks and they KILL us so we have to be very careful in tick areas. Mum's going to try that rose oil stuff. She uses a mix of different oils on me and they work real good but I don't smell too good when I have it on. She wants me to smell like a rose too. OMD!!! thanks for nothing, aye?? Say g'day to Mackie for me. Crikey he's getting big, aye??

  16. OUr mom likes to use natural stuff with us too if she can. We will read about that oil. There is also a company called Wondercide that sells natural flea & tick stuff. It uses cedar oil.

  18. My mom read about that, too and didn't even THINK of Amazon. She's so not up to par... Instead she got me something called Cedarcide. It smells pretty good, too. And "there ain't no ticks on me!"

  19. This was really interesting. Thank you. Having lost Digby to a tick we've found that the best solution is to make sure that Frontline is applied every 3 weeks ( Avantix is better but our dogs seem to react to it badly ) and make sure that they always wear a Scalibor collar. The organic remedies don't seem to work against deer ticks and we've found the Scalibor collar does. Here the peak tick season is April-May and again September - October. Extreme cold and extreme heat seem to kill them off.
