Dougie Dog has determined that the heat wave is being caused by all the hot air which goes back-and-forth from one end of Pennsylvania Avenue to the other end, non stop. It is relentless and it drifts north, south and west ... sorry folks!

My Gramma used to have Chinese lanterns. She loved them and would dry them and use them in the house for decorations sometimes.

Whew! It is so hot and humid here that Mom won't let us stay outside and lay in the sun for very long. She's scared we'll have heatstroke.
