In Purrsuit Of Flavours

We are joining Phenny and Nelly for In Purrsuit of Flavours.   We are posting one of our favorite summer foods.
One of our very favorite summer treats is Strawberry Shortcake.

We sugared the strawberry with lots of sugar so we will get lots of yummy juice.
Mom didn't feel like making homemade shortcake because she is lazy so she bought these spongecake dessert shells and she cheated once again by not buying real whip cream. She told me that yogurt would be much healthier for you, Molly.
 Yummers.   I forgive you mom.
 Strawberry Shortcake is served!
Summer can never happen without Strawberry Shortcake!
We can't wait to read what others have chosen for their favorite summer foodables.
Happy first day of July!

Love ya lots♥
Molly

OhMyMolly it looks good. Growing up my Daddy grew his own strawberries (by the boatload we'd say), enough to make preserves, frozen berries for winter pies and more ... so shortcake was on the menu weekly, with homemade biscuits and real cream topping! Nothing like it in the world, and oh how it is missed. True summertime memories.

No whipped creams?! I'm reporting your mom to the shortcake police! There must be a law against that!

We are with you Molly summer is not summer without strawberries. Here we have them whilst Wimbledon is playing, not this year of course, and have them with sugar and cream in a bowl for dessert. I also use them on a non-baked cheesecake which has orange flavour in and that is yummy for this time of year. We are glad you got your own to try Molly. Hugs & Love Susie & Treacle xx

My mom just loves a mix of fresh fruits, no sugar, no whip cream, just the fruits all mixed together. Enjoy your shortcake!

My favorite summer food is watermelon. (I think)...lol, but home grown tomatoes eaten right off the plant is good too!

We get strawberry yogurt every night before bed. It's our favorite flavor.

What a perfect summer treat. I found a recipe for a foil package pineapple upside down cake using those sponge cakes that I'm going to make on my next camping trip.
