Molly Monday

We had an issue last week.   Mom groomed me on Tuesday and that night, I decided to lick my paw raw - AGAIN!   Sadly, because I am up a lot during the night with the dementia, my paw really doesn't get the time it needs to heal.     We can say that as of yesterday, I was hardly limping at all but there was still a wee bit of blood on the inside of my sock.

She continuously searches for internet help and suggestions and we did find a site that suggested the NatureVet Quiet Moments and the Calming collar and mom found a book that she decided that she had to have.

She put the collar on me immediately.   It smells pretty - like lavender and hopefully it helps to calm me at night.    We will give the chews a try too to see if they make can a difference.

Paws and fingers are crossed here~~

Happy Monday, everybuddy!

Love ya lots♥
Molly

  1. That is sad that you are licking your paw so much. Getting old is not easy that is for sure and it goes for dogs as well as humans. Hopefully the collar will help calm you.

  2. Molly my sweet friend I understand itching....it is really hard to control the desire to scratch/lick.
I surely hope the lavendar works...I know it smells nice. I woke up itching Friday morning ...I'm wondering if per chance I was allergic to the lidocaine used on Thursday. I have a call into my doc.
Love you lots and Hugs Cecilia

  12. Molly, Lightning is up most of the night too. Mom can't figure out if it is due to pain or dementia. Since the Librela shots weren't doing anything for him, the vet started him on amantadine capsules in addition to the Rimadyl, gabapentin, and tramadol. For the past three nights he has only been up once of twice which is a lot better than before - Mom has a camera monitoring him all night. She isn't sure if it is the amantadine kicking in after two weeks or just a coincidence. It's tough getting old.

Woos - Lightning, Misty, and Timber

  17. Oh Molly you need to leave your paws alone as you do need them a lot!! The first Airedale we had, Kelly, was a bit like this and licked her paws until they were sore but the vet gave her some medicine to stop her licking and she absolutely hated it and after that never did it again!!! Get better soon. Hugs & Love, Susie & Coco xx
