Nature Friday

 I've been walking pretty much every day since Molly passed.    This morning, I found a feather telling me that Molly was walking right beside me♥   I bought a Viburnum bush a couple of weeks ago.   It's still very small but it's blooming and the flowers are so fragrant!

Miss Dotty's Hyacinths are still in bloom~

Miss Amy's double Daffy is so pretty~

The Magnolia is in bloom in our back yard~

The Weeping Cherry is so pretty~

The Star Magnolia near Tom and Judy's house is flowering~

The pink Bleeding Heart that I planted last year made it through the winter~

The mailman brought the most wonderful card from Kathie, Misty and Timber.  The words couldn't be more perfect and I was in tears once again.  I know they are having just as hard a time with the loss of Lightning that I'm having with Molly.   Thank you so very much♥  Your beautiful card means so much to me♥

A small package arrived with the most gorgeous garden flags!  They are from our friends, Phyll and Willow.   They are too beautiful to put outside!   I decided that I will get ONE garden flag holder and see how that goes☺   Thank you so much, Phyll and Willow.  Phyll, you are always so kind and thoughtful♥ My favorite flower is the Poppy and the  purple Iris's will forever remind me of Angel Khyra♥    

I have the best friends in this whole wide world.  Thank you so much♥

A Tearful and a Thankful Tuesday

 I have been cleaning and rearranging furniture so I don't have to see emptiness where Molly's beds and food dishes were and I have also been gathering beds, collars, harnesses, toys, food, treats, grooming tools and prescriptions and supplements to be donated.  

Monday morning, I went to Animal Haven to donate the majority of it.   I have not been to the Animal Haven since Molly's dad and I dropped off a baby raccoon that had wandered into our back yard and couldn't stay but we did have fun with Rocky for the few days that he was there.                                    

First off, we need to thank Ingrid and Dalton and Benji for their beautiful tribute memento that now lives on our sidebar with Ann's gorgeous work.  Thank you so very, very much, Ingrid♥  You are so kind and generous♥

We received a beautiful sympathy card from Molly's vet~

The mailman brought a sympathy card from Miss Cecelia in the afternoon that had me sobbing.

Your card is so gorgeous and so perfect♥   Thank you so much, Cecilia♥

The mailman also brought a package from our friend, Miss Lydia, "In loving memory of Molly".  It's a beautiful purple dish that was made by artist Sue Zimmer of Stone Pony Pottery.  Sue specializes in Airedale pottery and her work is unique and beautiful.  Thank you so very much, Lydia.    I LOVE it!

We also need to thank Hailey and Phod's Lady.  They donated money to a local dog rescue to help with puppy Charm's medical bills in Molly's memory.  How wonderful and generous you are.  Thank you so very much♥

And I want to thank all of you for the outpouring of love that you sent me on the passing of my sweet girl.  It has not been easy but all of your support helps more than you will ever know.   Thank you from the bottom of my heart♥

Good-by My Best Friend

 Getting out of bed this morning without Molly was not easy.   I found myself looking at the clock and remembering the day before what we were doing before we headed to the vet's office.  

This is our first picture together.   We had just left the breeders house and on our way home~

When I left Molly's dad and we moved to our apartment, it was the first time that I had ever been on my own but it was okay because I had Molly by my side.  

This was the lockscreen photo on my computer from seven years ago and it's still there today~

We were in Hamden for a year before I started looking for a small house or apartment in Molly's old stomping grounds so we could walk the routes that she grew up with.   Landlord Bob's house became available and we both took a ride to see the house and for Bob to meet Molly and the rest is history.  We were here together for six years and we loved every minute of being together.  

Many of you probably don't know but Molly and Mitch both passed on the very same day - April 17th.   Mitch passed in 2016 and Molly in 2024.    They were best friends as long as food wasn't involved.  

Whatever will I do when I need my tasteTester?

Who will sit in front of me and beg for the last spoonful or forkful of my meals?

Who will let me know when a stink bug needs disposing of or there's a fly in the house or a ladybug crawling in the window?

I am happy you will never be frightened by thunder storms or fireworks ever again but I will miss you wanting to climb into my lap for kisses and hugs.  

I want to thank Ann for the beautiful artwork tribute and for our many many blog headers throughout the years.   You are an absolute brilliant artist, Miss Ann!

Tasty Tuesday and Then Some

 Mom was on FB and saw a Crustless Spinach Pie that looked so yummy and she decided to look for a recipe and make one~

Watch where you put that spoon, mom!

The Spinach Pie is delicious but a tad bit on the salty side.  Next time, mom won't add so much Parmesan cheese.  

And then the unthinkable happened.     I licked and chewed my two front paws - yes, again, and I am limpies and not happy.     Mom has had it with exercising with Jane Fonda.  She has been threatening me for quite awhile that she was going to go for a walk without me and she finally did it!

Mom has never walked alone - not in many many years.  She says thank goodness for her camera to help keep her focused and less sad.  

In all honesty,  I don't mind that you walked alone, mom.   You gave me a cookie before you left and it's okay.   I can deal with it - for now~~

Nature Friday

 We are joining Rosy and Sunny this week for Nature Friday~~

We still have Daffy's blooming~

Our pretty pink Hyacinth from our garden opened!

Landlord Bob's Quince came into bloom and what a beautiful color!

Once again, the stoopid robins decided to build a nest in our Rhododendron.  Mom doesn't even want to watch their progress because we already know what's going to happen.    Why do the robins choose such a dumb spot?!

We spoke too soon on Wednesday about me not having any more reactions to my Anipryl.    I had another reaction and this one happened right before I was to go outside for my morning business.   Mom had me in my harness and was trying her best to keep up with my stumbling and disorientation on the stairs and outside in the yard and she did a great job.  She was able to keep both of us upright and safe but she's decided from now on - we do morning business BEFORE I eat my breakfast, just in case!  What she can't understand is how did the reaction hit me within five minutes of swallowing the Anipryl tablet?

Plan C

 On Monday, mom removed the books and chimes that were next to the TV and put our air purifier in their place.    It's larger and heavier and taller.  This has to keep Molly safe from the power strip!  BTW, the air purifier isn't plugged in.  We don't use it when the windows are open or the AC is on.  

On Monday night, there was no hanky panky and no issues with the air purifier and I had a great night and mom got a great nights' sleep and both of us couldn't be any happier!   The air purifier worked!!!

I have not had a reaction to Anipryl since the first time on Saturday morning.   Could the Anipryl be working its magic?    Time will tell~~

Molly Monday

About that box with the chewed hole in it~

Do you see that power strip behind the box sitting on the books?   The box was sitting in place of those books and last week and I decided to pull the box out from underneath the power strip.   The box is full of wine corks and it is heavy and I did leave it alone for quite a few days before I decided to be brave and move it and chew a hole in it.  

Mom keeps telling me that this power strip is dangerous and to leave it alone, Molly!!!!   Because of my dementia, I'm awake all night looking for things to push and move and to challenge mom.    She decided to put the power strip on top of books this time to see if this might work.

Then she put these chimes in front of the power strip hoping that if I dare to touch this newest challenge, the chimes will ring and mom can address the situation  and come up with another idea.   

Update - the chimes were pushed so mom taped the chimes to the top book with packing tape.   We will see how that works!

Another update - the didn't work.   She will have to come up with Plan C.

This is my bed in the bedroom and if mom feels unsafe about me "touring" the living room while she is sleeping or trying to sleep - this happens~

Seeing as I don't like crates and never have, I am hooked to these three leashes that give me about 15 feet of room to move.   My bed is softer and cushier than a crate floor and I need that for my old bones with arthritis.   

I have only been hooked twice so far and I spend my time touring the bedroom trying to challenge mom further.   I don't sleep at night and I don't like mom sleeping at night either but sadly, she does like sleeping at night so until she comes up with a different idea - this is the way it works to keep me safe.   

My Anipryl prescription did arrive on Friday afternoon and I did take my first dosage on Saturday morning at 6am.     We had a sunny morning and I found a nice warm sun puddle and was enjoying myself.   Mom was busy cleaning and I decided to get up on all fours as she entered the living room.    I was unsteady, stumbling, disoriented, drooling and very loopy.   Mom immediately called my vet.    He was with a patient at the time and when he did call back, I was doing much better.   He wants us to give it a week so that my body can adjust to it.  

Update - Sunday morning, I had no reaction to the Anipryl!  YAY!  

We are so hoping the reaction only happened one time.  

The Anipryl isn't a miracle fix like the Librela was for me.   This med can take one to two months before we see a change.

Nature Friday

 We are joining Rosy and Sunny this week for Nature Friday~~

We did get out for one short walk this week and it's been raining ever since.

My sissy brought mom beautiful pansies for Easter!

Mom has researched and taught herself how to repot orchids that came from the grocery store and she had so much fun!

So far - so good!

She was in the basement earlier in the week and noticed that our Amaryllis is active so she brought the plant upstairs and so far it's growing.  Will it bloom?  We shall see!

What makes you think that I know anything about the hole in this box that happened overnight while you were sleeping or trying to sleep, mom?

Seeing as the hole has been started, I might as well investigate!
