We are joining Rosy and Sunny this week for Nature Friday~~
Our weather has been crazy this week. It started out cold and then we got rain with warm temps and now it's back to cold.
The only thing that we found on our walk worthy of a photo were these grasses~Mom has African Violets and she was having trouble getting them to re-bloom. They got fertilizer and they were kept on the dryer side and they are on pebbles and still no blooms so she went to Amazon to see how much grow lights cost. She was pleasantly surprised to see that they are not pricey at all~We're starting to see blooms FINALLY!Happy Friday the 13th!Duke
Oh Yikes, it is Friday the 13th! We are in the deep freeze but coming out this weekend. This time of year everything is dead so not much nature to photograph. Hopefully snow will come and brighten up our world soon.
ReplyDeleteNo matter the day, or the date ... love to see you ...

ReplyDeleteAfrican violets are one of those plants that you need magic fingers for (or some sorta witchyness...) Those and cyclamens always defeated me! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
congrats on the blooms! I think mine never did, nor did orchids

Mama says thanks to your Mama for the African Violet advice...she never thought of grow lights!
ReplyDeleteWe think those grasses are nice...but you in your jacket are nicer!!
xoxo,
Rosy & Sunny
Things look nice Dandy Duke and I hope you and your Mom have a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteNature or not, we always love to see you, Duke. Mom loves African violets and has stopped buying them for the same reason. Maybe she needs to look at some lighting too. But she also must water them too much because the bottom leaves always die and look terrible. Yours have pretty colors. And before we forget, you look so good in your coat.

Ohh the vibrant colors of the African violets! Now I know why Mom hopes that they bloom. Never knew that grow lights are available so I’m checking them out. Take care when the temps get crazy, keep well for Christmas.

Lulu: "Such pretty flowers! Rumor has it that our Mama used to have African violets, but she doesn't anymore. Something about cats knocking them over and eating them."
ReplyDeleteChaplin: "I'm sure I wouldn't know anything about any of that ..."
Our weather is up and down too. We have had several days where it has been dull and grey and cold but also a few days where it has been milder. We did see the sun on Saturday which was so nice. Today it is cold and grey again! At least it wasn't raining on your walk Duke! We are so glad your African Violets are flowering again. We love the pretty primulas that come out in Spring and their different colours. Have a lovely Week. Hugs & Love, Susie & Coco xx
