So Happy didn't win the Kentucky Derby but he was doing so well and the race was so exciting and we were so hopeful! He's in third place at this point - where the arrow is pointing.
At the start of the race, the horse that won was way behind everybody else - in the group of three that are trailing.
Who knew that he would come from behind to win the race! That's the winner to the far left with the arrow. Congratulations to Golden Tempo! We felt so bad that So Happy lost but Golden Tempo's trainer is the first female trainer to win the Kentucky Derby so that's awesome! It was such an exciting race and we can't wait to watch the Preakness Stakes in Baltimore later this month! We'll be rooting for Golden Tempo but keeping an eye on So Happy, if he races.
That was an amazing race I have to admit. Coming up from the very back end practically and going all the way to the very front. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next race.
ReplyDeleteSo Happy ~ so sorry ... if he runs the Preakness we'll scooch up the road and meowz loudly for him! OK? OK!
ReplyDeleteLady has never watched the derby. It seems exciting! Tigris, Styx and Lanie too

ReplyDeletePhew... no accounting for those who sneak up behind, eh?! Sounds like it was an edge of seat thing. Ah well.... hugs and wags YAM-aunty xxx
Hi hi hi! Ojo here! Did you Bark at the horses? I would BARK!! Also, that looks like a very nice chew you have!
ReplyDeleteThat was some race and yes, that really was coming from behind to win!
ReplyDeleteIt was an amazing race! Golden Tempo sure took the long way around. Paws crossed for a Triple Crown :)
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, it's got to be hard to beat the Golden Tempo no matter how happy you are, sí? We're sure he was thrilled to be there running, and how cool is that about Golden Tempo's trainer?"
ReplyDeleteSo Happy will race another day
ReplyDeleteShe rode Golden Tempo like a champion and so he became one.
